This Guesthouse has an excellent location right at the lagoon and is only a short walking distance away from the waterfront development where you will find a few restaurants. The staff are very friendly, professional and helpful. Their service was, in general, quite good. Although the Guesthouse has a very limited menu, the food is good and portions are sufficient. They could perhaps consider adding a few more options to the menu. Also note that parking inside the premises is very limited.

The position of the Guest House on the bay may be good when the weather lends itself to slow wandering around. It is easy in September to find the flamingos and they even parked themselves en masse on the beach directly in front at night when the tide was low. However the position is fairly well away from any facilities. There is internal parking in a courtyard. The room was smelly (from cleaning materials?) when we came and that never really dissipated. The worst was the attitude of the staff who just did not seem to care, had no information or suggestions about the area and were pretty late for breakfast. There were no comfortable seats in the room but we were thrown out of the 'lounge/bar' area at about 21:15 when the member of staff there went off duty.

We chose to stay in Walvis Bay for convenience, as the various excursions depart from this town which, apart from this, has very little to offer. The Oyster Box is in a very convenient location, close to the docks where the various restaurants are located and the excursions depart (we had dinner at the Raft and Anchors). Modern, rather modest room. The breakfast was decidedly basic. It's fine for a hit and run... Walking around the town we saw a couple of hotels that were decidedly nicer, at least externally.

Empty hotel but deplorable assigned room: nauseating, cockroaches, dark, view of the parking lot. And the single friend of course paid more perhaps for cohabitation with the cockroaches Breakfast: sour milk. Very helpful staff but probably limited in their room for maneuver

Great location to stay, clean rooms, friendly staff and excellent breakfast. Close to Kite school Namibia and the water, so you can do everything on foot. With the help of the man behind the reception, we ate almost every time in a different restaurant that met all expectations.
