I am a commuter as the base of my job is 98 miles away from my home. I usually choose this property because it is very conveniently located 30 seconds off the I-95, quiet, very small but available breakfast, and close to the office. The last stay, I did not get the usual young lady who is always pleasant and quick with check-in. The one there hassled me about a $50 charge for being a local when she looked at my driver's license. Now I felt obligated to have a discussion about my reason for staying there. How is 98 miles and 1 and 1/2 hours away considered local? The rooms are clean, beds are comfortable, pillows and blanket are horrible, and most times the towels are hard and stained but I do travel with my own pillow, blanket and towel set. Reconsidering my choice of hotel stay in that area if this occurs again, I have already let one incident slide.
