Hotel Adler Garni

The hotel, which is referred to as a 4 star hotel, certainly does not deserve this rating. The rooms are very small and outdated and I don't think the lady at the reception felt like working. The restaurant next door was fine. On the other hand, breakfast was a bit sparse by German standards.

We stayed in this hotel one night in June, I must say straight away that 4 stars seem excessive to me. The hotel is located in a small village 10' away from the center (you have to stop by car) I was expecting some more services starting from the reception which closes at 9pm, if I'm not mistaken. The rooms are spacious and clean, the bathroom in our room was a little dated and some tiles near the sink were broken. In a 4 star you expect to find some small attentions such as slippers, something that was missing here. Unfortunately it gave me the impression of a hotel for workers rather than a real 4 star. The hotel also offers a spa and has a swimming pool. The restaurant closes too early in the evening (which happens in many places in Germany). Breakfast is overpriced (but this also happens in many hotels in Germany) It's fine for one night, you can probably find something with better value for money in the area.

Wat een ontzettende tegenvaller is dit hotel. Hebben ons nog niet eerder zo niet welkom gevoeld in een hotel. Daar waar we op de heenreis richting vakantie een onwijs leuk hotel met vriendelijke mensen hadden getroffen was dit echt wel een tegenvaller op de terugreis. Begrijp dan ook niet dat dit hotel een 8.5 krijgt. Nog niet eerder zulk onvriendelijk en niet gastvrij personeel meegemaakt. Chagrijnig, niks mogelijk, geen toiletpapier op de kamer, geen kamers naast elkaar terwijl we daar, ivm kleine kinderen wel om gevraagd hadden. Geen kindermenu, en ook geen enkele bereidheid om iets te maken, al was het een frietje… uiteindelijk maar in een dorp verderop pizza gaan halen. Diner voor volwassenen is wel erg goed, lekkere wijnen! De normale twee persoons kamer heeft een smal bed. Bij een vier sterren hotel vind ik het altijd fijn om een kop thee of koffie op de kamer te kunnen zetten, was niet mogelijk. Kale kamers. Maar vooral het onaardige, ronduit chagrijnige en niet gastvrije personeel zijn kenmerkend voor dit hotel. Dus voor iedereen op doorreis… rij een dorpje verder…
