The Featherbed Inn & Nordic Spa

We had the pleasure of visiting Vermont for the first time and being welcomed so warmly by Karen & Mick at the Featherbed Inn & Nordic Spa. They truly outmatch almost every experience we've had in terms of hospitality and friendliness - from immaculate rooms to a state of the art Nordic Spa experience (without all the crowds!) , we could not have wished for anything better for our weekend. Their location is so close to local amenities, and they have so many suggestions if you have questions about what you would like to do. Every morning is a new scone to start with, and they take the time to explain the dishes they've prepared to all guests. A 3-course breakfast never went unfinished, and sitting with some fresh juice and coffee while enjoying the morning really set us up every day. There is a bike/hiking trail located on the back of the property that is great for any nature lovers wanting to stretch their legs at any time of the day! At night, we took advantage of their Nordic Spa set-up; a lovely warming room that leads into the main heated area, with a separate cold plunge located just outside, all just steps from the side door. After sweating the day out and feeling reinvigorated, we sat by the ever-burning outdoor firepit on the patio and chatted with other guests. The Inn provides a great spot to relax, unwind, meet others if you like, and just all around have a fantastic time. We'd recommend this place to any and all, and without a doubt, we will be back! Mick & Karen provided welcoming and exceptional service. Taking caring of us without us actually seeing them do it. Tables were set and coffee ready first thing in the morning, a 3-course breakfast of locally sourced ingredients prepared timely to nourish us, never to over stuff. Overstating the value of the Swedish spa: Sauna & Cold Plunge, cannot be done. All in our group did 2 cycles one day and another the next. Absolutely invigorating and key for your visit whether you're hitting the trails, the farmer's market or the dance floor at a wedding. We can't wait to see what's next for the Featherbed as Mick is building a beautiful barn for future amenities!

We had a wonderful long winter weekend at the Featherbed Inn! The Inn is beautiful, carefully restored along with a new sauna which was delightful after a long day of outdoor activities. The Inn is close to many cross country and downhill skiing options. It is conveniently located near the Waitfield center and the charming town of Warren, both of which have great restaurants. While the natural surroundings and the lovely Inn are enticing enough, the proprietors of the Inn, Karen and Mick, made it perfect! They are warm and friendly and always available for advice. They also prepared a delicious gourmet breakfast where we got to know the other guests. We totally recommend booking the Featherbed Inn for your next trip to Vermont! We certainly plan to return. Our group of 12 friends had the perfect weekend at Featherbed - from stargazing at the pond, jumping into the swimming hole across the street, cold plunge and sauna sessions before every meal, morning runs across the hills, reading in the lawn, devouring beautiful breakfasts, and exchanging life stories with Karen & Mick. I booked this inn as a recommendation from the mad marathon website ( hint: book directly through their site for cost savings) The inn emailed me prior to our stay asking about dietary restrictions When we arrived we met mick and Karen and immediately felt like we were talking to long time friends. We talked travel, food etc The inn itself is fabulous. There’s a pond ( which felt great right after the marathon). A cold plunge and sauna. The gardens and atmosphere are made for relaxing The accommodations were just as wonderful. The bed was sooooo comfortable and the room was spacious. My daughter and friend had their own area with a door! I loved the decor as well Ok. Let’s talk food! Mick and Karen are going to spoil you! I got through the first course of breakfast and was already full. They make a seriously delicious breakfast!! If and when I return to VT there’s no question about where I’ll stay!
