Probably one of the best ski hotels we have stayed at. Very close to the Grafenberg lifts, probably a 3 minute walk with boots and skis downhill. The hotel is perfectly central to the ski area so you get to ski Wagrain, Flachau, St.Johann and Zauchansee, although Zauchansee is alot to do in one day we found. I couldnt understand why the ski bus doesnt go to Zauchansee from Wagrain as this is a fantastic area with alot of km's of pistes. I did feel the links between Zauchansee and Flachauwinkl could maybe do with a link like the panorama link. Back to the hotel! - The hotel itself is situated in a perfect location, close to the Grafenberg lift, or you can easily get a ski bus to the Flying Mozart lift. The hotel is clean and spacious, always warm and provided lovely breakfasts and dinners. The dinners were to a very high standard and there was lots to choose from. The hotel did put on an afternoon tea I think between 3pm and 5pm where you could have hot meals such as soup and a main, and some cakes. Some things I was disappointed with: Surprised at no coffee! - in my opinion the hotel is better off ditching the soup and main dish, leaving cakes and adding coffee. I'm somewhat surprised as well as there is no coffee facility in your room. I'm thinking there is a reason, such as knowing people would like coffee so get them to pay for it. To the hotel if they read this, please get rid of the soup and main dish, leaving cakes and adding coffee - that would be perfect and is quite common in other hotels. It would probably save you money by not providing the soup and main dishes. I was a little disappointed as we had arrived late, that we had paid for a full day and there was nothing left out for us in the evening - this is usually the case at other hotels. I think it was more of a hit when on our last day at breakfast it seemed they were keen to get rid of us, taking our plates quickly. Check out was at 10am! (very early) and that the maid walked into our room at 9.58am. We went to the reception to ask for a late check out / or pay for a room but there was nothing. It all seemed like you've had your stay now go type of attitude which was a let down on the last day. However, that was our last day and it didnt spoil the hoilday. The rest of the stay was fantastic and theres not much I can say other than the things mentioned above that could improve this hotel. Pros Hotel centrally located near the Grafenberg lift Warm & clean Staff were excellent A great heated boot room with your own locker provided Fantastic food with lots of choice A lovely indoor swimming pool and outdoor, with sauna and steam room A great games room Cons No coffee in the room or coffee making facilities. No coffee provided at tea (please forget the soup and mains and add coffee) Felt a little rushed to get you out of the door on the last day 10am check out is way too early - usually at other hotels its 12pm - please think about changing this
