Lovely hotel in a strategic location, on the beach and five minutes walk from Vulcano’s restaurants, lively bars and shopping area. Rooms are very nicely designed and recently renovated. The bedroom is separate from the living room (both rooms have doors) with the bathroom in the middle. Quiet decent size pool at perfect temperature! Private beach on the calm sabbie nere bay. Mario the lifeguard on the beach is a superstar and very knowledgable on the best places where to eat on the island. Aperitif on the terrace has breathtaking views but do book well in advance, even before you get there, to secure your table. If you have the chance, visit the nearby islands by boat. Overall we had a lovely stay. Friendly staff, attentive hotel manager.

I stayed here for 2 weeks last year, and (pre covid) for week; but I had not left a review for either visit. I am writing one now, because I disagree profoundly with one or two of the (minority!) ‘less than perfect’ reviews i have just read. Our stays were about as perfect as a holiday can be. We loved Les Sables Noirs, and will definitely return for a third visit.

The rooms are scattered in separate little bungalows around the site, and on first inspection I was absolutely thrilled with my room. After 10 days of tiny little rooms and no outside space on a tour of Sicily, here I was presented with a cross between a suite and a self catering apartment. It was absolutely enormous, with a small kitchenette with big fridge and even a freezer; cooking facilities; a table and chairs; a sofa; a really big bed; another small sitting area; a big shower room; a big private terrace (you could seat at least 8 people I should think); and a small non-private sitting area outside the front door with table and chairs. On closer inspection, the sofa was stained, and the shower, although clean, had an awkwardly placed shower head which made it difficult to use. The private terrace was not practical to use because of the sulphur smell, and it looked on to the back of some other, less well kept, apartments; but the front area was lovely and I did make use of this. Everything apart from the sofa was perfectly clean. The pool was a bit small. I only used it first thing in the morning when I was the only person in it, and that was lovely but it would be crowded with multiple swimmers.

Very nice hotel on the interesting island of Vulcano. Rooms spacious and comfortable more like an apartment than a hotel room. There was a large fridge freezer, cooker, microwave loads of cupboards but no kettle or hospitality tray...very strange. We even asked for a kettle at reception with no luck. The view from the bar overlooking the black beach is stunning, although the weather was poor for the two nights we stayed so couldn't really enjoy. The bar also plays deafening music most of the day...not nice. Breakfast OK usual fare. No restaurant, we had to walk into the village for our included meal. I give 4 stars only because the room was clean and spacious and the view outstanding.

Wouldn’t come at all. They only have 1 option of food “a burger” and it was worst than eating chain fast food like mc Donals or Bk, not what you expect of a hotel of this price. The drinks were all over priced and the service isn’t good at all. When it comes to problem solving they cannot help you at all.

We were placed here by the company that organised our tour. The major surprise? It isn't really a hotel at all - it is a time share complex. So we had a totally unnececessary kitchen with huge fridge, hob etc. It has a nice pool and a private beach area - and the breakfast is good - but it's all a bit motel-like and dull. I wouldn't choose to return.

Per descrivere l’esperienza a Les sables noirs si possono usare davvero tanti aggettivi superlativi. Ancora prima di arrivare in struttura abbiamo avuto un problema con i mezzi per raggiungere l’isola , ma nonostante il poco preavviso e la tarda ora serale il direttore de Les sables noirs Andrea Caristi ci ha aiutati. Il personale di reception a completa disposizione H24 , alle ore 22.30 ci ha prenotato un gommone per l’indomani senza esitazioni; il personale di sala e bagnini attenti a tutto e molto colloquiali. Le stanze sono dei veri mini appartamenti, con ogni confort di casa a tua disposizione, il nostro “ appartamento “ oltre ad avere una meravigliosa vista , aveva ad uso esclusivo nostro una vasca idromassaggio esterna con vista sulla spiaggia delle sabbie nere . La terrazza di Les sables noirs è conosciuta ovunque per la meravigliosa vista che offre ma abbiamo avuto anche il piacere di assaggiare la loro cucina accompagnata da vini locali e cocktail eccellenti . Che dire , non vediamo l’ora di poter ritornare.

Struttura bella e ben organizzata. Camere molto ben arredate, pulite, spaziose e confortevoli. Il personale e’ molto gentile, la spiaggia e’ comoda, la colazione e’ nella media (non mi ha entusiasmato come qualità dei prodotti ma c’è tutto ed è’ ben presentata) c’è anche un servizio di light lunch. Lo consiglio per un soggiorno piacevole sull’isola di Vulcano.
