Hotels near Zivasart Gallery in North Athens

I've been in Athens many times, and my first advice is if you're visiting the Greek capital for sightseeing don't stay here. The hotel is in a remote northern suburbs, too far from Athens main sights. We came here on purpose because of the Iron Maiden concert at the nearby Olympic stadium (10-15 min walk) so it served us well, as we didn't go to downtown Athens. Hotel consists of two parts (with different names) - one is pet friendly, one isn't. In between is a fair size pool with several sunbeds. Rooms are spacious, but as others said - dated. Housekeeping is non existent - put a complaint the safe deposit box wasn't working as well the fridge, AC was barely working with strange sounds, asked for extra pillow - no one solved even one of these, nor even apologized. As we stayed only one night didn't bother to complain again. Breakfast is generous and good quality - many items to choose from fruits, pastries, cold cuts and cheese, eggs, sweets,.... Location is in the middle of residential area with nothing to see or do except the Olympic stadium and Mall of Athens.

The room is very clean and new, with all the pots and pans available! There are 2 balconies and 2 rooms, which is very comfortable for a family to live in! Although the area where the hotel is located is not very good and the downstairs is in shabby condition, the hotel is a new and high-end building and entry and exit need to be kept secret. The hotel is very close to the subway, 400 meters away. There are many supermarkets, bakeries and cafes downstairs! Special reminder, there is no front desk here. The hotel will email you the check-in password at 11 a.m. on the day of check-in. The password cannot be used until 3 p.m.!

The Kefalari is located in a very nice neighborhood with cute shops and nice restaurants. They offered us a breakfast box due to no restaurants serving breakfast in the neighborhood. We had to leave at 2:30 am for a flight, so missed out on that but they had Nespresso pods available as well as water. The rooms are beautiful and have great amenities but the carpet needs replacing. I believe they are in the midst of renovations. There is a small elevator and also cookies, coffee and bottled water in the lobby.

Despite these points of improvement, the overall experience was more than satisfactory. The staff were helpful and courteous, always eager to assist, making my stay comfortable. In summary, while Semiramis Hotel does require some tweaks to reach its full potential, its location and overall experience make it a property worth considering for future visits to Athens. We had 4 nights accomodation from 28th of dec. till 1st of January and I can say only good words about the hotel. We came with out daughter, we had a premium triple room, big enough, 3rd floor with the view on the back, as we asked. Because of the high traffic in Athens, I think everywhere you stay, there is traffic noise from the street, but this time, not having a room with street view, was great. The staff from the reception till the bar on the rooftop, are very kind, friendly, always happy to assist you with what you need. The room was cleaned each day, very good breakfast too, so I really recommend this hotel. It is about 20-30 min walking distnate from Syntagma square or Acropolis, so we did not need the use the public transpo. I agree with come negative comments about the dark streets closed to the hotel, with a lot of homeless, but these can be avoid if you decide to walk.

I recently stay in your luxury hotel and it was an amazing experience. The stay was really comfortable and we enjoyed alot with lots of fun in pool and bar. Had to stay in Greece for a few months. I can honestly say that i could not have found a better place to stay. The Staff were helpful & wonderful, the rooms were spacious, clean and very comfortable with all amenities close by including restaurants & transportation. The value for accomodation is excellent and i would highly recommend this hotel. One thing for sure is that upon my return to Greece i will definitely book here again. Big Thank you to Dimitri, Helen and all the other lovely staff that made my stay most enjoyable.

This was my second stay at Athens Center Square Hotel and it was as good as the first. Location is fantastic in the old marketplace with a great restaurant at the corner and easy walk to Monesteri and metro. It is a budget hotel - so don't expect luxury and can be a little rough around the edges, but the price is good and the staff is fantastic. From the roof-top bar you get as good a view of the Acropolis as you have from any luxury hotel with friendly service and good prices at the bar. Breakfast included in the rate and was excellent with a large variety of fresh local items plus standard international options. Highly recommended if you want great value, comfortable rooms and fantastic staff. Not luxury, but my choice in Athens every time!

Travelling solo for the first time I was apprehensive and after reading some of the reviews this added to my angst. However on arrival I was warmly greeted and throughout my 5day stay the lovely reception staff couldn't have been more helpful! The hotel, although not situated in the most appealing of areas, is lovely, very clean and has everything you need during your stay. The area isn't the best, however is up and coming and is that of any city centre. Keeping your wits about you and being aware of your surroundings is the best advice I can give! Even in the main Monastiraki Square, you need to be very much aware! I loved my stay and would very much recommend this hotel as I felt very safe here. Walking into the main areas I would advise to walk to the National Archeological Museum and then travel by bus(or walk) to the other areas as this is the way I personally felt safest. The sightseeing buses are the best way to see the city and it's great hopping on/off wherever you wish. I would definitely recommend Plaka as a place to visit-very beautiful and has great places to eat! Taxi drivers can try to con you and charge 4 times the amount for a 5€ journey from Monastiraki SQ to the hotel so be wary of this and agree fares before getting in! All in all a great hotel to stay at and if travelling with 2 or more I'm sure walking back to the hotel at night is fine - I just personally didnt feel safe doing this! I would definitely stay at this hotel again!
