Best Hotels in Vorderlanersbach, Austria

The Alphotel Innsbruck is probably the worst hotel we've ever stayed at! But we had no choice since we were on a tour package and this was the hotel that Gate1 chose for our itinerary. We weren't the only tour members who did not have a good stay at this hotel. Our tour group had a long day and we were scheduled to arrive late so we were all pretty tired when we arrived. Unfortunately the room we were assigned to didn't even look or feel exceptionally clean and I'm surprised I didn't take photos of the room! Comparing posted photos of the rooms on TA our room looked much older and didn't even have a real chair, but only one of those small round ottomans. And that ottoman was dirty and stained, so we didn't want to sit on that! The bedspread had that ”ick” factor, so we removed it but at least the sheets were clean. Carpet looked grungy so we made sure to wear our slippers and not walk barefoot on it. Regret not taking pictures of the room now. We've stayed at hotels with older or ”tired” decor but they were at least neat and clean, but not at this hotel! Now the ”fun” part was our bathroom door. I was getting ready to take a shower and went into the bathroom, but wanted to use my own soap and toiletries, so I went out of the bathroom and my husband (who was standing in front of the bathroom, looking at the closet or something right across from the bathroom) shut the opaque glass bathroom door. I went back to the bathroom and tried to open the door and it was locked! It was one of those simple privacy type locks where there's usually a pinhole that you can usually press and it'll pop open. Unfortunately, there was no pinhole but a screw so I tried twisting the screw but the door remained locked. Husband tried but it kept turning and he didn't have any tools so he called the front desk and they sent the maintenance guy up. The maintenance guy looked at the door and tried twisting the screw with the same results and said he needed to go get his tools. He returned with his small toolbox and tried several screwdrivers, with no luck. Then he tried using a small drill to remove the screw and still couldn't get the door unlocked. Meanwhile, we were sitting on the bed and watching tv since there was nothing else we could do. I texted our friends who were also traveling in the tour group and assigned to the room right next door to let them know what was happening. And to apologize to them for the loud racket, as the maintenance guy went and got his large power drill and was basically removing the entire door knob and panel. So the guy had to destroy the whole door knob panel because the door lock screw or nut inside the panel was probably stripped and couldn't unlock or open the door; so if I was on the other side of the door I would have been stuck in the bathroom! Probably my 10th stay at this hotel. It’s been rather rustic and run by the same family for ages. However the pandemic has changed things - some for the better some for the worse Better - easier passage from main entrance to rooms in the east wing and spa - well functioning free parking Worse - all staff seem new and not very well trained - on check out the bill included my already prepaid room and the lady did not, at first, understand that this was wrong - renovated room. Nowhere to place clothes etc. No shelves- no cupboards. Glass “door” to bathroom with 30 cm open space at top and bottom. Weird, even when traveling w spouse. Very cold, icy electrical light in room. You hear other rooms very well. We twice woke up 5 45 from an alarm clock somewhere else. Never happened in any hotel room before.

We booked a Panorama Deluxe room for 3 nights, checking in on Sept. 20th. The property is centrally located along the train station and features a parking directly connected by elevator. The “piece de resistance” of this tall building is clearly its stunning view on the town and surrounding mountains. We were lodged in room 1104 on the 11.th floor which is the top floor featuring rooms, as the 12th accommodates the lounge/restaurant where breakfast is also served. Curiously, the hotel doesn’t have a lobby in a traditional sense: the concierge & cashier counter can be found in a small separate office on the basement and the elevators to the rooms are located in a small hall, across a glass door, which opens directly on Brunecker Street. Access security to the floors being managed by room key-card, you can enter/exit the property and the parking with no contact to any staff at all. Our room was a corner one, rather large, beautifully architected and nicely furnished in a contemporary metropolitan style. From virtually any point of the room (bathroom included) it was possible to spot some additional detail of the stunning panorama. The room was comfortable and quiet (in spite of the near busy train station), breakfast was good and we definitively had a very good time here in Innsbruck.

We stayed for one night whilst travelling from Germany to our ski resort in Austria, with 2 children. The hotel was very easy to find, nice and modern and the rooms were very good value (we got 2 connecting rooms ). It is perfect for a quick stop overnight. Breakfast was simple but there was a good choice and it was a nice way to start the day for our onward journey the following morning. There are vending machines but otherwise nowhere for evening food/snacks. We wanted something quick and easy and did not want a full sit down meal in a restaurant in town so it would have been good to have a bit of something on offer, like pizza, in the evening. But it was a quick drive into town and we soon found something. There is a supermarket next door (it was closed when we were there, as we arrived in the evening)) and a nearby petrol station. There was ample parking in the downstairs garage for 8.50 euro a night, and plenty of electric chargers available for electric cars. Would definitely stay there again if needing an overnight stay en route.

Perfect location. East walking to the coolest town along our European journey. Room was basic, clean and very comfy beds. We enjoyed the sauna room in the evening. Only suggestion is to have coffee in the rooms or at least in the lobby free of charge for guests.

The hotel is beautiful, in a very good position, central but quiet with a public parking going directly to the hall and the rooms are super clean, the breakfast is good and with a lot of choice...so why only 3/5? Because the staff at the reception is completely useless and the wellness area had very restricted hours (from 5 to 9 p. m. only), they wrote due to the cost of energy, but if this is the reason, why the heating in the rooms was always so high? We had to turn it off and open the window during the day to breath, it should have been around 24-25 °C. If they kept it lower they could open the wellness area for more time, especially because there were a lot of people (60 rooms most or them booked) and it was difficult to use a 8 people jacuzzi and around 20 deck chairs if everybody go there at the same time. The problem with the reception staff totally useless happend twice: in the wellness area you shouldn't drink or eat (it's logical but I asked to be sure), I said there was a group of teenagers with beers and bottles in general (glass) but nobody came to check and say somehing: bringing glass near a swimming pool could be very dangerous if a bottle fall, but nobody cared. The other episode was with the restaurant: we asked at the reception for a reservation in any night of our stay (5 nights), but they say to ask directly to the restaurant without caring at all at our request. At the restaurant they were very rude and said they were fully booked any day any time without even checking, fortunately just around the corner there was another very good one and we went there twice, but usually if in the hotel there is a restaurant, the staff is much more helpful and there is always the possibility to try it if you are a guest of the hotel.

we were only spending one night in Innsbruck, so a hotel made more sense. Highly rated on Hotels.com, we chose this one. It is definitely more trendy/hipster vibe, with multiple pillow options and alternative air conditioning. The thing that might throw some folks is the all-glass, see-through bathroom. We had encountered something like this several years ago had a hotel in Copenhagen. Both the shower and toilet are glass-enclosed, with a sliding door shared between them. When the door is closed to the toilet, a frosted section of the glass is appropriately placed so that some modicum of discretion is retained. However, the head and feet are plainly visible, and the last thing you want to see after breakfast is your significant others face while they are straining on a painful deuce. The shower, on the other hand, has no discreetly placed frosting anywhere, so you get to see the whole fruit basket…as it were. After looking at pictures on the TripAdvisor page for the hotel, it appears that not all the rooms have this interesting see-through toilet/shower combo. If this kind of thing bothers you, make sure to request a room that works better for you. That being said, both toilet and shower work fine, although the shower is only partially enclosed by a partition wall, leading to a very wet bathroom floor. The bed was quite comfy as well. A very good buffet breakfast was available at a decent price. We were able to park less than a block away in a private lot for a reasonable fee. All in all, a very good stay and we enjoyed our cells. It was sooo disappointing! To think that you were arriving at a respectable accommodation to find that they did not even have bell service. We arrived with our luggage and there was no one to help with it, our car service fortunately helped out, and then it was further downward from there. Every single item of request was a disappointment! Everything was answered with ”we simply do not have people to do the required service!” Not something one wants to hear while on vacation, paying full fee for a supposedly established place to stay.

Wir waren zum ersten Mal am Achensee, das Fürstenhaus hatten wir online entdeckt und dann direkt gebucht. Wichtig für Selbstanreiser (wahrscheinlich die meisten): rund ums Hotel gibt es quasi keine Parkplätze, überall Halteverbot. Somit bleibt einem damit nur die Tiefgarage und die kostet leider extra. Die Ankunft war sehr stilvoll, wir haben Sekt bzw. O-Saft und Pralinen erhalten. Unser Zimmer mit Seeblick war traumhaft, einziges Manko waren die für uns zu dünnen Decken, da nachts recht kalt. An der Rezeption erhielten wir extra- Wolldecken, diese waren jedoch auch nur sehr dünn. Ebenso traumhaft der Wellness- und Fitnessbereich. Das Abendessen hatten wir nicht gebucht, können es also nicht bewerten. Von anderen Gästen haben wir jedoch eine gewisse Unzufriedenheit gehört. Das Essen orientiert sich an ”gehobener Gastronomie”, wer etwas richtig traditionelles tirolerisches sucht wird also zumindest ein wenig enttäuscht werden. Ebenso gehoben sind die Preise für das Abendessen, zu zweit haben wir inkl. Nachtisch in nahegelegenen Restaurants etwa so viel gezahlt wie das Hotel für eine Person und Abend veranschlagt. Das Frühstück war sehr lecker, positiv hervorzuheben sind die langen Buffetzeiten. Ein kleines Manko sind die Säfte aus einem Automaten, wahrscheinlich aus Saftkonzentrat und kein Direktsaft. Auch die von uns probierten Kuchen waren etwas trocken, sonst jedoch alles super. Wofür das Hotel nichts kann, was man jedoch beachten sollte: außerhalb der Hauptsaison im Sommer/Winter, insbesondere dann auch während der Woche ist am Achensee wenig los. Toll zum entspannen, jedoch nicht so toll, wenn man irgendwas unternehmen will und vieles zu ist. Insgesamt würde ich mir wünschen, dass man pro Nacht ein paar Euro weniger zahlen müsste, dann würde ich volle 5 Sterne vergeben, 4 sind es aber auf jeden Fall.
