Hotel la Locanda

La Locanda is a delightful small hotel located within the Volterra walls but conveniently close to parking just outside. Our room was very comfortable and clean. Lovely and helpful staff. Generous breakfast. Easy walking distance to all Volterra attractions.

Great location. Near lots of lovely restaurants and shops. Staff are fabulous and so helpful. The room we had was clean and spacious. The bathroom had been redone in last few years. It was spacious and had everything required. Car parking is 3 mins walk and costs €2 per hour or €12 for the day.

Absolutely the worst customer service of a hotel I have ever experienced. It's hot as hell in our room and the man at the desk cannot help, cannot answer a question- just keeps saying we will get a free room tomorrow. I don't give a crap about tomorrow as we leave tomorrow. We are in the room sweating . Not acceptable!!!! At all. Avoid at all cost. A room tomorrow isn't what we need. We need a comfortable room tonight. Hasn't cooled and has only gotten hotter. Having someone at the desk at night that cannot help and WONT help is the worst thing ever in the hospitality industry. I will never come here again nor book my clients

Central walk everywhere. Great breakfast, elevator, windows that open, and a very nice large bathroom. Desk to work at. Very helpful reception staff. Super duper clean, and a pleasure to stay. You will get a great nights sleep. Enjoy this hotel.

stayed for one night on 06/06/23 in this small but very comfortable and welcoming hotel. Great location within the old city. well maintain hotel with beautifully decorated room.0nly 60 m from car parking area great breakfast and very efficient staff. Highly recommended

Cute little hotel on the "main drag" but just far enough out that the evenings were quiet. The hotel has a small elevator that can accommodate 3 people, 3 suitcases, and 3 small personal-sized bags. More than that, and it won't move :-) The hotel is, like almost all hotels in Italy, in an older building, and it took some creative remodeling to engineer all the rooms. Our room was just off the stairwell -- and one could even say it was "in" the stairwell, since you had to exit to the stairwell to access the door to our room. Once in the room, the beds were definitely comfy, there were adequate electrical outlets, and plenty of spots to place our suitcases. Since we were traveling with a Rick Steves tour group, we were only there 2 nights, so... no time to unpack and then it was important that we could access our suitcases. Volterra is a lovely little town and the Hotel La Locanda is perfectly situated for setting out to explore. I would definitely stay here again if we were to return to Volterra. With a car, it would be a great location to set out to explore the surrounding countryside.
