This is in a stunning farmhouse in a fantastic countryside location with incredible views and a wonderful, much appreciated swimming pool. It is very quiet and peaceful, so we could completely relax. The countryside and views are utterly stunning and it was so peaceful relaxing by the pool was bliss. We enjoyed exploring stunning Volterra town (c 5km away, so a drive) in the cooler mornings before the crowds arrived, enjoyed lunch in one of the restaurants and then returned to the Agritourismo for afternoons by the pool. We booked via AiB&B - Double check your booking as the AirB&B photos and description are all for the largest upstairs apartment - which is what our booking was for (Apartment Alloro) but there are 3 other apartments in the building and we ended up being put in Apartment Rosmarino downstairs which is very different and much smaller to the AirB&B ad and does not have a bath. Check which apartment you are going to end up in and make sure there isn’t a mix-up! Do not follow Google Maps to the apartment - other guests did and got very lost. Once you get to the football stadium just follow the (very well signposted) signs all the way to Agritourismo Mannaioni. Beware: the road is unpacked in parts - pretty usual in rural farm locations but just be warned. Unfortunately our apartment’s Air Conditioning stopped working on our last night so we had a very bad final night’s sleep (there was no additional fan) and when we told the owner the next morning she didn’t seem very concerned but we were leaving at 10am. It’s been 34/35 + degrees this summer so this was an important issue. There is a great Coop supermarket at the top of the hill, stock up there, as nothing extra is provided with the apartment apart from a few toiletries, we had to buy-in all our tea, coffee, etc. Overall an incredibly beautiful and peaceful location with a great pool and stunning views - but a mixed experience.
