This is now our third visit to this establishment which I think we probably rate as one of our favourite places for a weekend away. The rough edges we noted in our review following our first visit have gone and we really enjoyed our stay. Special mention must go to the staff for the efforts they make to ensure our visit is such a pleasure. Further commendation must go to the chefs in the kitchen who prepare fabulous food and the staff at dinner who look after us so well. Some building work is underway to extend the accommodation options and in due course build a spa. Hopefully these will be finished in time for the warmer evenings when dining outside in their courtyard is just magical.

Probably deserves a five star review but there were some small touches that let it down. For example the en-suite bathroom door in our attic room doesn’t close properly or provide sound proofing (if you are a bit shy turning on the TV was the remedy). Also the tea / coffee facility was lacking any cream or milk. And the third sitting of breakfast had run out of fresh fruit and scrambled and hard boiled egg. Generally the cooked breakfast wasn’t that impressive - but there was a really good range of cold options. Dinner though was absolutely fabulous. Also on the plus side it’s really beautiful building set in fabulous countryside. Service was pleasant and efficient. I suspect we’ll be back.

Our stay could have been wonderful: beautiful settings for a painting holiday which was the purpose of our stay. Unfortunately all preliminary aggrements with the management concerning dinner, painting location and...price! were not kept when on the spot.

Wonderful one night stay. The hotel is set by a lake and the staff are very friendly. Dinner at their restaurant was outdoors and I liked their refined interiors. Rooms are spacious and very clean. Recommend for 1-2 nights.

Wonderful place to end after a day in Maastricht. We experience a homely atmosphere and casual hospitality. In the evening you can enjoy a delicious dinner by the fireplace. The rooms are nice, spacious, wonderful bed and nice shower. Wake up with a nice view of the castle pond. The breakfast is more than fine and extensive. We would love to come back again!

Beautiful location and surroundings, very friendly service, extensive breakfast. Unfortunately I hardly slept due to a buzzing noise all night long. In a suite you don't expect cardboard cups to make coffee or tea, nor an empty minibar. The spare blankets and pillows are simply on the floor in a dusty room. The bath was not fixed, the water from the shower flowed into the bathroom. Expectations are higher for a suite.

We opted for the 'culinary package' and had a fantastic experience across the board. The friendliness of the staff, the beautiful location, the spacious rooms and the culinary highlight were all great! If I may nitpick for a moment (and add a small comment), add a coffee machine for breakfast. By the way, there is still one unemployed in the kitchen. But other than that, great, all the stars are well deserved!!

Searched for a hotel in South Limburg at the last minute during Christmas. Arrived at this hotel just across the border. It is a bit remote, but you can enjoy nice walks there. Atmospheric ambiance for both breakfast and dinner. Crackling fire in an attractive room. Breakfast is very extensive and tasty. Dinner was great, the portions are not that big, but a surprise for your taste buds! Rarely have you eaten so well!
