Le pire pour moi c’est la qualité du petit déjeuner. Pour un hôtel 4 étoiles c’est inédit. Jus de fruits et café Thermos imbuvables. Pain et viennoiseries pas frais. This started off promising. You can't drive to this hotel. If you come by vehicle you get dropped off 150-200m away. A very friendly and helpful young man came down from the front desk and took our bags up. He was really great. Unfortunately when he left everything good about the hotel left as well. It's in a good location in the center of old town. Walk out your door and you're there. But location is only part of it. Our room was fine - no water in the room, no coffee, no tea. Just the usual bar fridge stocked to the rim with overpriced drinks that someone must buy (I honestly don't know who buys these things but someone must). One pillow per person - queen bed had two separate blankets. I've seen this before in my travels - this might be a local custom. I don't like it. One pillow then some sateen pillow thing that can't be laundered and I certainly don't want to put my head on after it's been in a hotel room and another gold fabric pillow that again can't be laundered and shouldn't be on a hotel bed. There was a fragrance of some sort in our room that drove my wife's nose crazy. She immediately got stuffed up and had a hard time sleeping. This has never happened before and we've stayed in some pretty sketchy places. No staff wearing masks - not even in food service. No obvious efforts to curb Covid in place - it's as if Covid doesn't exist here. No signs asking customers to wear masks either and the predominantly German clientele present while we visited did not wear masks at all - not even those who were coughing in the food service area. Disgusting. If there were signs anywhere they were not highly visible and no mask wearing was encouraged or enforced. The young lady at the front desk on the afternoon of our arrival (9/9) was just plain rude and unhelpful. The pink haired young woman at breakfast the next day looked and acted downright angry. Geez, people, if you don't like your job go do something else. The breakfast buffet is small - the smallest we've seen so far. No regular teas available - all herbal (mint, chamomile, peach etc.) No black, green, earl grey etc. Food choices limited - coffee was that garbage stuff out of a super auto machine. This was disappointing in a meditteranean influenced area that generally serves Illy or other superior coffees. This hotel has cut corners wherever and whenever they could. Would not stay here again and do not reccommend.

We booked hotel Jakov after our precious holiday to Rabac in Croatia with TUI was cancelled less than 48 hours in advance. Due to being pregnant and having a doctors note with the date and country we were flying to we had to find somewhere else in Croatia for the same dates. Now I am a fussy traveller, but we came across one holiday that would work with Jet2 Holidays, this gem of a hotel came up, Hotel Jakov which is part of the Amadria Park Resort. The initial reviews looked good so we went for it! It’s an hour away from Split airport and an easy transfer. Check in was busy but quick and rooms were ready for us on arrival. My only grudge about the arrival is that the car park for the hotel was so busy a coach can’t get down to the entrance which meant on arrival and departure you have to walk with all your case from/to hotel Ivan and in the heat this was not pleasant (especially when you are pregnant and with two young children) A mini pick up with their buggy cars would have been lovely. The hotel was spotless, always being cleaned throughout our stay. The rooms very lovely, well presented, looked after, clean and modern. The boys loved the bunk beds, the shower room was brilliant and we lucked out with a wonderful view of the pool and sea! There was a chargeable mini bar if desired, plenty of toiletries restocked daily and air con in the room. We even had a bottle of complimentary water and box of chocolates on arrival to the room. The resort is huge and It took a day or so for us to explore and get to grips with where everything was. It was lovely walking around it each evening whilst dinner was going down. The pools across all the hotels looked beautiful. Word of warning if travelling with children, only ring/doughnut inflatables are allowed in the pool. Not lilos or inflatable animals etc so don’t waste your money on these. The great thing is though that you don’t have people reserving sun beds from early hours! The pool opens at 9am and if you want a bed you can find one no problem at any point in the day. There were a few people who put towels down for the whole day to only use the beds for an hour but this was a minority. The pools were particularly busy in the afternoon but not chaotic and a lovely touch with complimentary champagne and watermelon brought around in the late afternoon each day. (Would be lovely to have had a non alcoholic option for those who do not drink or are pregnant like myself). There is a pirate mini golf, a land train and light up bumper cars on the resort (we didn’t use as a little pricey and our small ones wouldn’t appreciate). They have an open air cinema on the beach every evening, we went twice and this was a major hit with our boys, a wonderful experience. There was ample entertainment for all, we went to the children’s mini disco on a few occasions as well as the kids parade/party. Always lots of entertainment in the Mediterranean square, live bands, dancers, fire performers etc. Lots of places to

Spacious rooms and bathroom, with beautiful views of the sea or the historic center, comfortable beds. Good cleaning of the rooms. The hotel is a heritage, located in a historic building and consequently has no lift. It is also not accessible by car (as is the entire historic center of Šibenik). There is a very convenient paid parking less than 5 minutes walk away which costs 5 kuna per hour. The staff is very kind, even if they lack experience and consequently the service is not always up to par (for example, they don't accompany you to your room with your luggage). Acceptable breakfast. Lights and heating are controllable with a tablet, which can be difficult/disturbing for non-tech-savvy people.
