Ramada by Wyndham Virginia Beach

Picked for convenient location which it was! The room smelled cleaned and was well made. Funny stain mark on flat bed sheet - iron? Towels were little scratchy. BUT - had most convenient parking. We were at the non-ocean front rooms and could walk right out to our car on the parking deck.

Check in was very very slow. Had to remind them to give me my change twice. They kept my drivers license and I had to go the next day to retrieve it (no call no drop off ..,.. even though they knew where I was). Also booked me across the street from the main building without telling me. Never again.

Our room was very nice looking in the picture it was not in reality it was a 60 dollar a night hotel room ,its the off season and I was charged about 175 per night with all taxes and fees booked ahead of time,the room looked like it was their from 25 years ago had noticeable flaws in upkeep and the bedding was substandard a sheet was on the bed basically for your blanket no comforter or blanket,they gave us a room in the old section of the hotel not the new building so apparently they show you a picture of the new building and then put you in a old room for the same money.I would of complained but it was 1230 am when we checked in and we were only there for 29 hours but it was not a pleasant stay and for over 350 dollars in the off season I expected better and you should to.ps no amenities for free no breakfast nothing.just the low quality room.there was toothpaste on the mirror.

The only thing we didn't like was the bed was too hard. The housekeeping staff was very friendly and helpful.

Parking garage needs updating. Room was clean but in need of updates- cracks in wall, door was crooked, etc. Foundation problems possible.

We didn’t end up staying here. After checking in and seeing the room, we immediately checked out and asked for our money back. The place was awful. The area around the pool felt unsafe, the room was musty, the coffee maker was missing pieces, there were bugs in the shower and the toilet was moving back and forth. It was crowded and dirty. We moved to another hotel down the street that was brand new and much safer and cleaner. Stay away!!

We initially saw some bad reviews on this property between when we booked and when we were set to go. It sounded a little scary, but we honestly had no significant issues and everything was adequate for us and what would be expected for a Motel style stay near the beach. Some random observations: *Make sure you're aware there are 2 properties. The Ramada Plaza (check in location) is the more upscale Hotel that you check in at and request accommodations. The Motel itself you see in the pictures (with the outdoor pool) is where you actually stay at, so it can get confusing. *Service was sufficient, though you have to leave your trash and towels outside the door each morning. They won't clean your room daily unless you specifically ask. Any other needs, you have to go across the street to the main desk and collect your items (toilet paper, trash bags, towels...). *There is ample parking as they have a 3 level garage. But, park your car in front of the main hotel to check in and get your parking pass FIRST (the security guard in front of sweet frog will want to tow your car if you don't). Learning experience there. As long as you have your parking pass, you're fine to go in the garage. *The Facilities are getting old and do need some updating. All in all, a good stay and this place was better than the one we stayed in at OCMD, so that was a win for us. It's also right across the street from the beach itself, so a big bonus there.

The side we stayed on was average nothing special. Toilet worked when it wanted too.
