Clean room. Well stocked. Location is remote and beautiful.

Our first room was dirty and the second room the toilet didn’t flush. Not to mention how the front desk hung up on me when I reported the dirty room

We loved our stay at the Schooner Inn! We were very happy that the lady who checked in my room was able to put my group in adjacent rooms. Unfortunately, the other half of my party had a young man checking them in who would not speak at an audible volume, and was really rude. I'm not sure if it was the owners kid or something like that, but I can assure you he wants no part of being at that hotel or talking to any guests. Our rooms were super clean, we loved our ocean view, and we walked to nearby restaurants for meals. The in room fridge and microwave were super useful, and the maintenance man who came and unlocked our adjoining doors was super friendly and polite. We will definitely be back.

I went through ******* to make this reservation, the reviews were very good. My wife and I were looking for a weekend get away and found this place to be one of only 2 in va beach with a private hot tub. I made the reservation and we went to check in. Once we got to the hotel we could tell from the outside it was one of the older facilities on the Atlantic ave *****. I reassured her that it had great reviews and we headed inside. We checked in at the front desk, the staff was great. We got room keys and headed to the elevator. While we were walking through the hotel we noticed this hotel was in pretty rough shape. We also noticed the other guests didn’t appear to have good intentions there. It was very unsettling. We walked into our room and it was about 85 degrees. (75 outside) I quickly went to the thermostat and turned on the AC to a manageable 70 degrees. After that I looked around the room to find that it was in pretty bad shape. Mold in the bathroom, paint pealing, and a stench of wet damp mold. After about 10 min the room was at almost 90 degrees. I went down to the front desk to ask for a different room to give them the benefit of doubt. I was told the hotel didn’t have AC this time of year and to open my balcony door. With the look of the other residents I didn’t feel comfortable leaving any doors open or even my car in the parking lot for that matter. The staff was very nice and let us check out. I don’t recommend this hotel or *******.

We love the location. It’s quiet and you get an amazing view of the ocean. Rooms are updated and the beds are comfortable. Will be going back soon!

The location is great. The staff was very nice. The onsite parking is a big plus. The kitchenette was great. The beds were very good. TV worked fine as did the heating (February). It's an old-ish property and a bit shabby, but aside from a couple of specific issues the room was a very good value. I would recommend if you're there for a good place to sleep and don't need anything fancy.

This is an older property and is fairly dated. Once we were in our room mostly everything was fine. Water was hot and water pressure in shower was good. There were four towels instead of the usual three. Bed was comfortable. Bedsheets were fresh and not pilled although the fitted sheet didn't fit the deep mattress and kept coming off. Room was clean. Carpeting appeared almost new. Plenty of convenient outlets to charge electronics. Fridge and microwave worked well. We were comfortable and would stay here again.

The jets in the spa in room 527 needs to be serviced as a few of them were inoperable. There was a lot of noise coming from the hallway right outside my room, someone yelling "jasmine, make it rain" on repeat. They were also playing music as they worked. It sounded like they were hammering in the room beside us. Front desk clerk could use some customer service skills, he wasn't the greatest on answering questions and spoke with little to no enthusiasm. Maybe he was doing the job as community service- not really sure, but other guests were complaining as well. The man next door to our room was playing loud music and singing along to it. This used to be my absolute favorite place to stay, but i may have to spring for Breakers next time. I stay at this hotel every year for my birthday, but had a difficult time celebrating it.

The staff when checked in seemed like I was bothering him the staff when checked out was very helpful . The room is older but decorated cheerfully and beachy . The heat stuck and couldn’t get it to come down . The tv coukd only change channels when facing a certain direction . The view was nice and the room was clean . A nice addition to have the efficiency kitchen and stocked with silverware and plates if needed.
