It takes 15 min to drive to the centre of Salamanca. The hotel is very big, but does not make good use of the space. The gym room is very small and basic. The room is big, but so basic. I spend Euro to upgrade the room, but it is the same grade with basic room, but have a terrace. The breakfast is good, various of choice of food. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant, that is ok.

We came as a tour group just for a night on 20-21 Sept 2023, overall, we think the hotel don't deserve a 4 star, at all. Room: - no kettle for hot water, no ironing board (basic essential of a hotel room) - wifi is inaccessible at night. - room is well maintained, clean, spacious, Gym is 24/7 Service - very unfriendly staff, especially during our breakfast - the staff handling us, was strict, a lot of restrictions. Bad attitude in hospitality, no smile, cross hands body language. Always saying no, no, no - food is scarce, stale bread, there is a clear difference of good food provided to the locals compared to my group. - no proper plates given, ask to use a small coffee plates instead, - no proper bowl for cereals, given small glass mug - limited drinking water bottles Location: - outskirts, away from city - Golf field is nearby Is this how your hotel treats customer staying your hotel? This would be the first and last staying in this hotel. BAD!

Hotel decor is outdated. We were not told that the service provided depended on occupancy. We had no access to lunch, tea, coffee or drinks. The restaurant was closed for lunch and the bar closed in the evening. The outdoor pool was not filled so the photo is misleading. The indoor pool was however available. We were told to go the nearby gold club restaurant for lunch. The meal was appalling - everything from a jar, can or pre-packaged. The breakfast was very good and the only redeeming feature. Fortunately we were there only for one night because we were on a road trip so booked a hotel close to the motorway but far from the city so do not use if you intend holidaying in Salamanca.

Pool and lifeguard was great although a bit cold on the day we were there. The bar at the pool was super good. We were not allowed into the indoor pool. The rooms are nice, clean and roomy but the beds were a bit hard. Breakfast was very nice and personnel attentive

Let me start by saying this is the most unwelcome hotel I have ever stayed in. Tripadvisor and *********** both clearly state the Spa was open on Sunday which was a major attraction after a long day’s driving as was the highly recommended restaurant. We were informed a few days prior to arriving that the Spa was now closed and 2 days before arriving that Restaurant and Bar were also closed. By that time we were already traveling and not able to change our journey to look for another hotel. Upon arriving the hotel was shrouded in darkness, we had to offload our overnight belongings in the dark garage, we felt we were the only ones staying there, which we later found was not the case. Naturally we were quite dismayed at the prospect of no food or drink. The receptionist was extremely rude and argumentative and accused us of having a bad attitude! He recommended the golfclub café up the road, which had just some deep fried tapas on offer, which were not bad incidentally but not what we came for. We were surprised to find our room was pretty much the furthest away you could possibly get from entrance given the hotel was mostly empty. The bed was extremely uncomfortable, rock hard basically, no airconditioning and no wi-fi. After an abominable night sleep the breakfast was not filling us with joy either. All the hot food, fried/scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage at the buffet was already stone cold at 8.30! This hotel should be *****ped of it’s 4 stars as I would not even give it a 1 star status. If you cannot offer the 4 star facilities and service you should not charge the prices. False pretences springs to mind. I’m sure the rude receptionist will come up with a counter argument such as “the Spa is always closed on a Sunday and is not included in the price anyway” or something along those lines but this is not what’s advertised and what the guests expect when they reserve a room at the given prices! Avoid at all cost if you are looking for a pleasant hotel experience!

POSITIVES - Hotel Spa which has several pools and accepts children over a certain age. - Room cleaning very good. - Reception and Spa staff pleasant. - Set in nice and quiet countryside. NEGATIVES - Hotel needs refurbishment: wall paper coming up, mildew around bath, toilet flush kept stalling. And the hotel decoration is generally a bit dated. - Beds not very comfy and only one pillow per person. - Hotel several kms from the city - I would only stay here for city tourism with a car. - Breakfast doesn't have the biggest selection, is in a room with no natural lighting and they are abrupt when it finishes - switch music and some of lights off and immediately start telling people it's time to leave! - Spa is expensive. - Pay extra for underground parking per day. There are a few overground spaces that are free. - My husband asked for some ice one evening... They refused to bring it up to the room and said he'd have to go down to the restaurant to fetch it - they then proceeded to charge him €1 for a paper cup of ice?! Seemed very weird for a 4* hotel! We didn't try the hotel restaurant so cannot comment on that. Overall, worth it for the spa with our children, but if it wasn't for that would stay elsewhere.
