Beautiful old and traditional hotel with great customer service and outstanding restaurant. The menu for lunch and dinner is great, with the recipes making use of local and seasonal ingredients; generous portions and a lovely dining experience. The homemade bread sticks are amazing and Raddichio Week (end January) is well worth a visit! Reasonable prices too plus an extensive wine list. Friendly welcome even if you're just having apple strudel, also delicious! Added bonus is that they are open every day and is 30 seconds from the bus stop, 5 minutes from the station and the cross country trails. Several visits for lunch and/or dinner is a highlight of our annual trip to the area. Try it, you won't be disappointed!

I have been going to the Hotel Adler in the Italian Dolomiti with friends, both Italian and American, for the past thirty-four years. In that time I have seen the Hotel Adler become one of the finest places serving as a home away from home. The location is perfect for an annual winter holiday with world class skiing, hiking, touring, eating and drinking anywhere. The hotel has grown over the decades to become world class. The Pircher Family run hotel is superb, the staff is friendly and excellent, service is awesome, the atmosphere throughout is unusually good, and the food & wine is exquisite. You can do no better. I will continue to visit every January as long as I can.

When we were travelling here from Germany in January, the weather reports were showing avalanches and road closures. We phoned the hotel and had a very helpful and concerned response from Christian. This proved to be the hall mark of our experience from all the staff throughout our week stay. The Hotel is in the centre of town and easy to find. Our suite on the third floor was spacious with two bedrooms allowing us to settle in comfortably. The bathroom was well equipped with a nice long bath and a superb shower. We had booked half board and the breakfasts and dinners were very good quality. The staff, especially Luciano and Rosemarie looked after us with a great personal touch. The wellness centre with Turkish bath and sauna were relaxing and helpful after a strenuous days hiking or snow shoe walking. The area is wonderful for winter walking and snowshoeing with much variation. Quite a few fellow guests we spoke with had returned many times over years which I think speaks volumes both about the hotel and the area. I think we are also likely to return sometime.

As the owner himself said, it's not a hotel but a house (albeit a very grand one!). The staff are an absolute credit, each one with their own delightful individual personality. You will feel instantly welcome. The meals are fantastic as others have said but do be warned that you need an appetite as each course in the evening was very large. I was upgraded to a large room on the 2nd floor which was enormous and very quiet. There are lots of walks in the area if you don't want to go to the tourist traps of Tre Cime and Lake Braies. I recommend joining the guided hikes led by Globo Aplin in Dobbiaco as these are small groups going to lesser known spots and always stop at a mountain hut for a drink or food.

Stayed for 1 week w a hiking tour group. Loved its location. Very accessible to public transportation. Train not far , bus stop just in front. Views of the mountain around us. Convenience stores around us. Outside is traditional looking. Inside facilities are modern. Love its roomy shower and multiple shower heads. Clean and spacious room. Love its balcony. Has a pool and saunas inside . There’s exercise rooms also. A wine room downstairs. There’s also a boot room where they will warm your boots/ shoes overnight. The hotel is like a maze inside. Many different lounge areas. Meals are fantastic at the restaurant there. Service great.

What an exceptional hotel. We stayed at Hotel Adler for 8 nights during a trekking trip. Our studio room (302) was huge and very comfortable. It was light and airy with a view of the mountains and the town. Breakfasts and dinners were excellent. Dinners were a combination of traditional, local food and modern fare. All delicious. The staff went out of their way to accommodate us. Service was efficient and friendly. What a bonus to have a sauna and pool to relax in after a day of trekking! We highly recommend this hotel. It is a gem.

Yes, certainly a first class, very professionally run hotel. We chose one of the suites at the front of the hotel, very spacious, and well fitted out. However, if you are a light sleeper, then you may wish to choose a room at the back of the hotel, because the bells in the church across the square start ringing at 6:30 am ! Not a problem for us as we were up anyway for an early start on our snowshoeing tours but it might bother some. The food was of high-quality, though not every night!. The wine list is amazing and actually quite good value. An immense amount of thought has gone into it. The hotel is very well located for travelling through the valley and for many active pursuits . We will definitely stay again.
