The view would be beautiful, if the eye didn't continually fall on the industrial area below and on the new Verduno hospital, right in front and quite impressive. If you want a "clean" look at the hills, you have to go to the restaurant, which has a beautiful view. The room - a junior suite - was large and very clean, modernly furnished and equipped with all comforts, including a coffee machine and pods. On the other hand, the bathroom is really old fashioned, with a sink positioned at Smurf height and no mixer tap. Banal courtesy products, excellent supply of towels. Abundant breakfast, without peaks of excellence. Downsides: the hotel has no restaurant. The attached one is independently managed and is completely closed on Mondays and every day at lunch. There is no light lunch service for those who intend to spend the day by the pool and it is necessary to go as far as Bra or Alba to find a place to eat (which however is not easy on Mondays). Santa Vittoria is completely devoid of bars and clubs, apart from a McDonald's and the Bennet diner in the shopping center one kilometer from the town. The restaurant attached to the hotel has prices in line with the location and offers quite interesting cuisine, which combines tradition and innovation. The green areas are rather mangy and maintenance - watering and cleaning - is done during the hours when guests would like/could use them. The greenish pool - due to the proliferation of algae, aided by the heat - has not been cleaned for three days and no one monitors the application of the regulation, including the shower. Damaged upholstery. Personally, I didn't bathe in that unappealing looking water. I would have enjoyed the Jacuzzi, but it lies well sealed next to the pool. Any supply of drinks from the bar is self-managed (in the sense that everyone goes and gets what they want). On the entrance door there are 5 stars, the hotel claims 4, the service is 3, while the prices (220 euros/night) are in line with the declared stars. Bottom line: good for a night with dinner, but still expensive and in a town that doesn't really offer anything. Like now all the Langhe, calibrated on foreign standards (we were the only Italians) which are not ours and oriented towards maximizing profits. It will perhaps take another Covid that limits travel to bring the area back to its true nature, now frankly it's not worth the trip.
