Solvi Hotel - Adults Only

We had a lovely, relaxing stay at Solvi Hotel. The location of the hotel was excellent as it was on the beach front. The staff were very friendly and helpful, when we asked about a hairdryer and plug sockets they gave us a hairdryer and extension lead for our room. We had a complimentary bottle of wine and water in our room on arrival which was a nice touch. We received free drinks vouchers for the rooftop terrace bar which was nice. The hotel gives out free umbrellas for the beach which is good as it saves you money. We got a free room upgrade to a front sea view room and we had a lovely view from our balcony. There was a safe and air conditioning in the room. The breakfast was good, we had a choice of fruit juice, a hot drink, a pastry and a sandwich for €8.50 per day. It was at a lovely cafe near the hotel. The tea was lovely. The service from the staff was very good. We could have had a bit more choice of food included in the breakfast. There was no swimming pool at the hotel which was the biggest downside. They could put one on the roof terrace. There was a lack of plug sockets and no hair dryer in the room. The walls were very thin so we could hear our neighbours who were noisy. The bathroom was small and there weren't any mini toiletries. There weren't enough coat hangers for clothes in the wardrobe. We were given vouchers for breakfast but there wasn't a time on them, this could be added to them.

Vilanova i la Geltrú is a beautiful hidden gem with not too many tourists and an amazing beach (if you are looking for a little more bustle, nightlife and touristy stuff then Sitges is a short 10 min train ride away). Solvi Hotel is also a hidden gem. The staff were attentive and friendly. Location was excellent, only a 5 min walk to the beach and close to numerous restaurants. If you need gluten free (safely ) then Pika Tapa is the best place to go with amazing food! The rooftop bar was really well maintained and decorated with fabulous views and again, excellent service. Our room was sufficient and comfortable with air conditioning. No kettle or fridge but bed was comfy and the bathroom, whilst small, was clean and functional. We had a side sea view balcony which meant that we didn't face the main road and didn't feel too exposed. All in all a great place to stay and would definitely book again.

Room is basic but good location with excellent restaurant downstairs. I’m giving this review because the aircon in my room is blowing hot air only and it’s been 27 degrees Celsius in my room all night making it completely impossible for my family and I to sleep and there are no staff on location to tell or ask for help
