Hotel Parque Das Laranjeiras

We have driven past this hotel on many occasions over the years, but decided to give it a try during a recent long weekend break in the Algarve and so pleased we did. It's a lovely little hotel, immaculately clean throughout and very friendly staff. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the pool which was delightful. The rooms have everything you need and an excellent walk-in shower. We asked for a kettle and got one. Breakfast is plentiful with a selection of hot and cold food. The pool area is very nice with plenty of sunbeds. Very relaxing. The hotel has a licenced bar and the prices are very reasonable. Fortunately, we had a car so could get out and about which might be the only drawback if you didn't have transport - the hotel is somewhat off the beaten track in terms of local amenities. The restaurant next door wasn't open during the time we were there which meant we had to drive in order to get lunch/dinner but that wasn't a problem for us. Really enjoyed our short stay and wouldn't hesitate to return. Highly recommended.

Parque Mourabel, Oásis Village & Pé do Lago

Parque Mourabel is a great place to visit, but many negative reviews and comments. This is my personal view. If you want 5* accommodation go to the marina and pay their prices, if you want 5* accommodation on a 3* budget don’t go to Mourabel but if you want a great value 3* hotel, it’s perfect. The walk to the marina is nice and flat and takes approximately 25 mins, or there is a courtesy bus 3 times a day, 9am, 11am and 4pm from the hotel. Within a 5 minute walk there is a couple of bars and restaurants so plenty of choice but we have always found the restaurant in Mourabel to be super, if you book the tourist menu clearly you have chosen that and the price reflects the choices but there is also an a la carte menu with lots on offer at reasonable prices and amazing service. The bar and entertainment in Mourabel is great, all the staff, literally all the staff are fantastic, it’s like a family. There is a well stocked supermarket almost opposite the hotel and a bus stop a few minutes walk away. There is also a land train that stops right outside the hotel. The reception staff will call a taxi for you if required or there is Uber. You definitely do see the same faces on a regular basis which says it all really, it’s a great place to visit if you are realistic with your budget and choices, you can also upgrade to a superior room which I would advise. There is also a large, free car park. One last comment about the barking dogs and building noise, although unfortunate, the hotel will always try and move you from any loud, inconsiderate noise if they can but it totally depends on booking capacity, personally I have stayed close to the said apartment and have never heard the dogs or lost any sleep but clearly others have. Regarding the building works, all hotels are not allowed to do major works during the most popular months but October to March you will get some noise anywhere, maintenance, changes etc…… need to be made. Oh, and I have always found the grounds and pool very well looked after. Hope this review is helpful, it’s just realistic and honest. Well done Mourabel and all the staff 👏👏👏👏👏 great job!
Hotel Apartamento Do Golfe

We love this place and have been coming here for years. Always book an apartment rather than a studio as you get at least one, sometimes two, generous terraces to sit out on. IN November 2024 we had superb weather for 6 out of 7 days. The pool area has been refurbished with more accessibility, and other improvements made. The snack bar was not open so late in the year, but the minibus service still operates and the restaurant (very plain food) was available in the evenings. A Spar minimarket is within a short walk, well stocked and with a very nice coffee and ice cream cafe attached. Within a 10 minute stroll is a large (for Portugal) new Pingo Doce which is a real boon for the self caterer. Friendly reception staff as always and immaculately kept rooms with daily cleaning. Great value aparthotel...we will be back! PS look out for hoopoes foraging in the gardens, charming long beaked migratory birds.
