Nice and adequate hotel. The hotel is set in a good location to getting around. The staff were friendly and helpful . We had an enjoyable and lavish breakfast. Parking was free. The room was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay immensely and are grateful.

We stayed in this hotel for the 5th time over the years since 2016. The rooms have not been changed much and could use an upgrade. The services of the hotel went down every year. From a fully operational restaurant to no restaurant now. From a very good breakfast to a very bad breakfast now. Bad coffee (actually just brown water, from one of the coffee containers even cold brown water), cold scrambled eggs, bread was just whole grain buns, vertically cut in half, something that looked like croissants and white bread to be toasted. A very limited amount of fruit (apples and soggy watermelon), cups of yoghurt without fruit in it. Just the taste of fruit. The opening hours of the bar (no possibility to have lunch). The staff of the hotel however is very helpfull and friendly. The pool and the poolarea are great. And when the bar is open, the food you can get there is not bad at all. I have sent my experiences to the hotel management before writing this review.

The hotel was in a perfect location.. staff were very nice! I lost a piece of jewellery and it was returned to me haven been found at the facillity, I was thrilled. ❤️

Hotel Colombo is one spacious hotel, clean, short drive from the airport. Checkin and checkout was easy, front desk staff were courteous and friendly. Checkout time was 1100 (an hour earlier than other hotels in the other Azores Islands, but we extra fee per hour, we were able to avail of few more hours rest in the room. Our flight was scheduled early evening, we got extra sleep. Room was comfortable, bed more firm than I prefer. The balcony scene was awesome, view of the green landscape , some houses and the big ocean. Breakfast has some hot foods, my favorite bread , variety of yogurt with my favorite maracujo(passion fruit) flavor. Good coffee and juices, fruits were available. The hotel bar was open and good place to get food too. We came in late in the evening, but we got some good sandwiches- delicious hamburger and tuna. We even ordered cheese board, with 2 great cheeses, with crackers and some nuts. Bartender Pedro was very good with service and accommodating my husband wanting some extra spicy sauces. It was a big treat for us.

The rooms are confortable, the public areas are large and pleasent. All the staff is very nice. The bar has amazing cocktails and light meals. Children are very well taken care. Perfect swimming pool.

Not exactly a 4 star hotel. Service is quite poor for a 4 star hotel, does not ser lunch (first 4 star hotel I see without a restaurant) and poor selection of snacks in the bar (which does not serve during lunch time as well). Since the hotel is quite far away from the village prepare to starve. At least the hotel could have a transfer to the village. Pool is great but the rooms, beds and pillows are below expectations. Since this is a hotel for vacations and to relax, comfort seems it is not a priority.

The staff in reception is lovely. That is the only positive thing. Hotel is far away from the center. You need a rental car if you are gonna stay there. Hotel looks old and worn out - like it’s gonna fall down any minute. Rooms are old-looking with way too big furniture and old appliances. Pool had dead bugs in it. The breakfast was quite poor and not even good. Restaurant was closed and the snack bar was expensive and bit suspicious looking. The hotel needs to stop saving money in everything and put a little effort on appearance and what they offer. Not a pleasant stay.
