Hotels near Nau Quinhentista in Vila do Conde

Excellent hotel overlooking the Ave river, exceptional location just outside Vila do Conde very quiet. Comfortable beds with many pillows among the amenities bathrobe slippers and towel to go to the indoor pool unfortunately in this period of Covid-19 it is not possible to access the sauna and other spa treatments. Good breakfast but poor choices at this time. Friendly and helpful staff

A lot of noise, from traffic to night, you still don't sleep or rest. The hotel is very good. They must rectify that, otherwise it is a nightmare.

The hotel is a modern hotel with large rooms, light and comfortable. It is recommended because it is near the airport, if you have to stay**** one night do not hesitate to choose this hotel.

Clean modern and cheap hotel in 10 minutes walk or 3.5€ Uber journey to Porto Airport. This is very convenient to leave. What I personally missed in the hotel were two things: 1) toilet brushes 😆 and 2) water cookers to drink coffee or tea. We couldn't have breakfast because our departure was at 6:55. Therefore, water cookers would be perfect.

All came different from planned. Initially Famalicao was planned to be the centre of football games and the surrounding cities like Braga, Barcelos or Guimaraes, as well as the Douro Valley, at the end I spent a week with Corona in this hotel. Here I can very much praise the hotel staff who could give me good recommendations for pharmacies and testing sites. Fortunately, there is a large supermarket next to the hotel. The hotel is located directly opposite the football stadium of FC Famalicao. I could look directly from the room to the stadium. The hotel is still very new and the rooms were excellently isolated to the walk and the neighbouring rooms, a huge quality feature in my opinion. The bathroom was also very modern with rainforest shower. Unfortunately, breakfast (which can be taken normally in Portugal because of lack of isolation) did not convince me. There was exactly the same every day, but fortunately I didn't have so much hunger. Free tea or coffee can be taken all day at the tea bar.

Booked for a week long stay in this hotel, & was disappointed on arrival. Receptionist was rude, the room was completely visible from the street with no privacy curtains, so we could either keep the blackout curtains completely closed or have absolutely no privacy from a very busy intersection. Also, the toilet seat, bathroom door & air conditioning were all broken or faulty. We didn’t make a fuss because we were planning to spend our days out & at the beach, which is 10 min walk away. But we then had a family emergency back home & had to cut our trip short, & rearrange our flights urgently. We asked about getting a partial refund for the days we couldn’t stay, offering to pay a cancellation fee, as we were trying to pay for last minute flights home. The receptionist was INCREDIBLY rude & dismissive. He not only refused to help, but told us to “go away” for a few hours, saying he would call management but refused to do so on the spot, for no reason. We told him we were in a hurry trying to arrange flights home & he simply shrugged, annoyed. He didn’t try to call anyone or suggest he couldn’t at that time, he was simply refusing to & told us to go away for a few hours, when we were trying to make urgent arrangements. I called Urban Hotel offices seven times with no response, emailed about the situation & got no assistance, no refund, no credit, no basic help. An utterly subpar hotel, but the lack of politeness, basic respect & compassion was appalling. Would advise against staying here.

Stated here as a solo traveller when walking the Camino Portuguese. Absolutely beautiful hotel, lovely spa, pool and restaurant. Beds are so comfortable with a choice of pillows. Nice fruit and chocolate in your room on arrival. Staff very helpful and friendly. Highly recommend a stay here.

We stayed here for only one night since it's close to the airport. We arrived around 1am and the check-in was easy and fast. Comfortable, modern and clean room. Very quiet surroundings and extremely friendly staff. Slept like a baby. Would definitely stay here again if needed.

Due to price and proximity to the airport, I chose to stay here for a night while waiting for my flight back to the USA. Why due to price, might you ask? Well, doesn’t 63 USD sound amazing, especially since neighboring hotels were selling in the hundreds that same night? I tried booking that young-adult discount rate online prior to arriving at the property, which I knew was only available for purchase on the official hotel site but assumed I could easily get at the check-in counter as well. The site was down or not accepting my bank account for whatever reason, even after clearing all fraud protection freezes and things like that. Please know that when I say the following, I’m not putting direct blame on the individual staff members at Stay Hotel Porto Airport. I’m putting blame on the larger system. BUT it still needs to be said. I wish the staff could have quickly given me the $63 rate at the check-in counter, KNOWING I was having trouble with the website/app and should’ve been entitled to it with a better payment method. By the time I tried and tried and tried to get the rate to go through, the $63 rate had expired and the next best option was for $81, still exclusive to the app. And sure enough, know what happened when I tried paying for the $81? Still no luck. When the clock struck midnight, all hope was lost for a cheaper rate—the app reset its prices to the next night, and I had to pay a rate of around $100 at the counter to get a room right then. A valid argument could be to ask why I’m this picky about the prices, since when viewing it macroscopically, the differences aren’t that extreme. But I was traveling on a VERY tight budget. Every little amount counts a ton. And being at the end of my trip, my finances were in jeopardy more than they’d been at any other point in Europe. So I lost out on 40 bucks, which adjusted for non-backpacker inflation is 400 bucks. Or more. The last thing I’m going to add to the unfortunate pricing situation is one where I feel arguably the most disappointed about. Yes it’s apparently company rules not to book rates over the counter that are supposed to be booked online. But I didn’t feel that sense of sympathy or apology from either of the two employees at the desk. They were kind and friendly enough, which was expected—but when something goes wrong out of the customer’s control, I also expect clear, explicit concern and care to be verbalized. I don’t think they really “cared” that I missed out on a cheap rate because their company’s app payment portal malfunctioned. One of the ladies even told me (when I asked if this was a common issue with foreigners) that this scenario occurs roughly once each WEEK, which she labeled as not very common…but I beg to differ. I’m not saying they should fix the app issue…but they should’ve given me something like an apology. Stayed here for a week with Newmarket Holidays. Room was good with excellent bathroom and a balcony and view of the sea. It is a large hotel, rather ugly on the outside, surrounded by concrete tower blocks of flats. Although on the beach it is a good 30 minutes walk to the harbour and metro. Breakfast and dinner were buffet style and with many tour parties staying there dinner in particular was not a pleasant experience. The food was actually quite good and there was never a shortage. Staff were pleasant and friendly although rushed off their feet to take drinks orders. It was conveniently located for our tour trips but for the two free days it was a problem. We took a taxi to the metro both ways. Porto, Braga, Santiago are great places to visit and the Portuguese people are very welcoming. Overall we fealt disappointed by the hotel although we enjoyed visiting this part of Portugal.
