Internet celebrity hotel, the hotel room is quite big. Most of the people staying here are Chinese. If the weather is good, you can stay for one night, otherwise the cost performance is not high. The service is average, I didn't experience it.
The apartment was more spacious than we imagined, more than enough room for 2 adults and 2 children. Very clean and the laundry room was an extra bonus. Location was directly on 1 walking distance to restaurants, grocery store, black sand beach, etc. staff was very helpful even when we had a late check in. I’d highly recommend this place as a stop over between Golden Circle and Glacier Lagoon!
Nice hotel property in beautiful little Vik. A very welcoming and pleasant staff greeted us. We chatted with the check in person plus bartender and both were easy to talk to and shared their experience of living in Iceland. The room was reasonably priced, comfortable and just right for our one night in town. The restaurant is situated so diners have a nice Mountain and church view, plus the food was very good. Breakfast buffet was way above average and included in the price. Our only regret was our lack of time we could spend in Vik, so many places, so little time.

My visit to Vik, Iceland, will be etched in my memory forever. The hotel was a reflection of the spectacular land that surrounds it, with impeccable cleanliness and exceptional quality. The owner, a young woman who was attentive and friendly, made me feel at home. But the true spectacle was witnessing the Northern Lights, a phenomenon that defies description. This place was not just a stopover; it was the stage for one of nature's most magnificent displays that I had the privilege to witness.
The stay at Guesthouse Carina was like staying over at a friends', or a family member's house. As soon as I stepped in the door, I got homey vibes and my room really exceeded my expectations. My room was on the ground floor between one toilet and one bathroom which I thought was great, and all bathrooms and the toilet were clean and inviting. I did hear people talk outside the door, but not to a degree that it was disturbing me. There was a pair of ear plugs on the shelf, so it seems they are aware that some guests are more disturbed by people talking outside their doors. I hadn't booked my stay to include breakfast initially, but on the day of check-in I got an offer to book breakfast for 1900 ISK, so I did. The breakfast was served in the glass patio, which had a beautiful view of Vik and the black sand beach and the breakfast was really good. I loved the homemade Icelandic rye bread, it tasted like gingerbread cake! If I ever go back to Vik, I will definitely try to book a room at Guesthouse Carina again.
We stayed here as the mid-point stop on our way to Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon. It is true that because it’s one of the larger hotels in the area, it is used by large tour groups, but that did not interfere with our stay at all. It is a roadside hotel, don’t expect any luxuries, but perfect for a one or two night stay. The rooms are very spacious and clean (because it’s a busy hotel, your room may not be ready before check-in time). The restaurant is large and they were able to accommodate us with no problem for dinner, and their breakfast buffet (included in the rate) is fantastic. It also has a great view. The location is great, close to Dyrholaey, Vik and Reynsfjara (black sand beach). Pro-tip: if you have dirty laundry, they will do it for you for about $25 per bag regardless of the size. I thought it was expensive so didn’t do it, and regretted it - everywhere else was either more expensive or didn’t offer the service at all. The staff works so hard - I saw the same person cleaning my room helping out at the restaurant, and everyone was very pleasant.
Hotel Katla is located a few miles outside Vik. There is a central building that houses the restaurant and a number of separate buildings with guest rooms. There is an outside hot tub and a small lake. The rooms are good quality and spacious. The breakfast room is large and the breakfast was fine although we often had wait for items that had run out to be topped up. There is plenty of parking on site.
Excellent location, with a nice restaurant attached for breakfast and dinner. Rooms are tiny with little place to do anything but sleep, however there is an ample community room with games, comfy chairs and a small kitchenette if you actually find yourself not out enjoying the area. Just 10 minutes from Skogafoss.

Vik Town
JJQKABBQSee point one: the black sand beach, the black sand beach where the waves are tumbling, is legendary as a place to seal the trolls. In its dark series, there is also a gentle part of it that is integrated, perhaps the red of the sunset. Walking on the beach, rubbing with black sand and stone, making a "sand noise", even the soft stone is love your shape. Waiting slowly, I enjoy the process, the sunset, the coastline, the door of the island in the distance seems to be opened. The tumbling waves, black sand and white foam, and the red sunset, make this ancient lava flow purely natural formation of columnar joints and natural Renes rock add a mystery. See point two: the red-top church in the church town is a landmark building of Vic, nearly 90 years ago, but you can see its full view from the hill, backed by the mountains, facing the sea, and you can see Ren Li on the coast in the distance. Wide view point three: Dijolari to the peninsula mountain top road is more potholes, driving should pay attention to avoid, the end of the mountain top platform is the Dyrhdlaeyjarviti lighthouse; there is also the coastal reef horn (specific arched door) here is also called the island gate. , a good place to watch birds in summer Puffin. Standing above the Dihorari Peninsula facing the sea, the left bank overlooks vik black sand beach and Rennes rock; the right bank is an endless coastline
Reynisfjara Beach
BBlobCarpIncredibly beautiful beach with amazing cliffs, birds (Atlantic puffins) and rock formations. Nature at its best. Also a Game of Thrones filming location. Car park costs 1000isk (pay online) and there is a small cafe/restaurant.
Katla Geopark
CCindywxyzVolcanic rock moss landscape Iceland has a unique tundra landscape, many places covered with dense moss, soft texture. Because of the cold climate in Iceland, moss grows very slowly and, once damaged, it takes decades or even hundreds of years to recover, so it cannot be trampled or pulled at will.
Reynisdrangar
天天生哥Vik Black Beach Vic Black Beach The sand quality here is still very distinctive. It is dark enough to steal it thoroughly. The waves are an attitude and the waves are not restrained. Waves, Waves... When the waves come, run! It's still worth punching in here
