We reserved a night here several months ago for our 41st wedding anniversary. We were informed three days prior to our stay that the entire staff was attending a meeting in Milan and would not available to check guests in until after 6:00 pm even though policy states checking is from 3:30 to 7:30. Must be an important meeting when it is more important than your guests. I would be careful making a plan to stay here. Your ability to stay may be affected by a meeting. After all, who cares about guests, right?

This might be a great place for events but it is not well-suited for individual lodging. After booking the reservation, I did not get a lick of information on the stay (it was not easy to find the front office upon arrival). I emailed in advance asking for a dinner reservation and never heard back. It was a big mistake not to cancel at this point. Turns out the restaurant was not open at all during the week but they did not let us know. The proprietor said perhaps we would find other food offerings on the property grounds which was ridiculous and disingenuous. There weren't enough guests to warrant an open restaurant -- the castle felt deserted. We had to drive all of the way into Salsomaggiore to find food. LOL that I told my husband to pack a sport coat to dine here. To boot, one cannot reasonably carry the suitcase to the room, at least if you are staying in the turret on the far end and traveling with a larger bag (we were traveling for two weeks). There are five or so flights of brick stairs between the office and the room so it's a haul. And then finally, while the room itself is quiet and nicely decorated, the bed must be original to the castle. That mattress is as hard at the stone that the castle is made of. This had a few bright moments but if I were to do this area again, would definitely skip it. "I stayed in a castle" is not worth it. If you choose to do it, pack provisions. The in-room literature is spot-on when it states "this is not a hotel .... it's a historical house used as accommodations." Those accommodations are not particularly user friendly.

Beautiful hotel ..nice rooms ..but extremely unfriendly..unwelcoming..rude staff or owners whoever thy are ..we have visited italy so many times and have always felt so welcomed and have met amazing people..but its first time we came across such rude behaviour..we kept wondering entire evening and days later how could someone be so mean ..kindda racist ..specially whn in hospitality business…was it not raining and dark outside also sunday and we were not sure if we could move elsewhere we would have left from tht place ..even if money wasted ., i dont like writing bad reviews specially for a small run place .. but these guys need to care if they wanba run a hospitality business thy cant make ppl feel so unwanted and unwelcomed as thy have paid to stay..so if thy dont want certain ppl dont take thr bookings and money and treat thm so ba…its a shame to run such a lovely hotel with such arrogant attitude

Abbiamo soggiornato una notte nella suite del castello a novembre. La location è bella, molto caratteristico dormire all'interno di un castello. Peccato che nella suite ci fosse molto freddo, c'era solo una stufa elettrica, rumorosa e che non scaldava abbastanza, anche perché la corrente è saltata parecchie volte per sovraccarico. La colazione non era un granché. Esperienza negativa, non mi sento di consigliare quest'hotel, soprattutto in autunno/inverno.

Abbiamo soggiornato una notte nella suite in torre su tre piani. Una torre bellissima con il camminamento interno che fa tutto il giro della torre. Un castello bellissimo, colazione ottima e un grazie particolare ad Elena una persona squisita e professionale

Abbiamo dormito in una casa appena fuori il castello vero e proprio. La camera era di giuste dimensioni, peccato per il caldo tropicale all'interno della stessa. Buona la colazione dentro le mura del castello posto in un delizioso borgo. Personale gentile.

La locazion sicuramente molto bella un po meno la stanza del pernottamento. Abbiamo alloggiato in una camera non dentro il castello ma adiacente. La doccia terribile usciva un flusso d acqua con pochissima pressione ( era meglio non fare la doccia). Il letto due letti singoli uniti per fare un matrimoniale con solo le lenzuola ( in ottobre) coperte singole a parte ( un pile di ikea e una copertina di lana). Dettagli di forte usura pulizia non al 100%. Colazione buona.

Meraviglioso questo castello dell'anno 1000 dove soggiornando ti sembra di rivivere in quell'epoca. Le suite sono meravigliose molto comode con tutti i confort e naturalmente con una pace irreale. Anche con altri ospiti è tutto molto silenzioso. Soggiornando in questa struttura è anche possibile visitare altre stanze di questo castello cosa che risulta impossibile altrimenti. La colazione è davvero ottima con torte squisite e altri prodotti di qualità eccellente. Camere superaccessoriate con box doccia gigantesco. Infine un plauso alla signora ELENA. davvero molto gentile e disponibile oltre che estremamente professionale. SE VOLETE PASSARE ANCHE UNA SOLA NOTTE DA FAVOLA QUESTO È IL POSTO GIUSTO.. RACCOMANDATISSIMO !!!!!
