Lily Hotel Vientiane

Not the best of starts went to room checked bathroom and a window was missing was given another room when I got to it the door was open mosquitoes everywhere. Toilet hose leaked had to drop in in the shower area to keep bathroom floor dry. The bathroom door would not close fully. Dust everywhere, which was a shame, has the hotel looks like it's not been looked after it could do with updating and possible should have done update 10 years ago.

Don’t be deceived by photographs, this property should not even be allowed on any booking sites! Experienced hiccup right from check in itself, was told that there was only 1 door key and I had to refer to receptionist every time I wanted to enter the room. This is clearly unacceptable and I’ve never experienced such thing after traveling for so long and after much argument of this nonsense they finally gave me their only set of keys to the room. Aircond was noisy and not cold and the water heater was not functioning. Soundproofing of the room was also horrible, noises from upstairs and the yelling from other guests can be heard loudly. Mysterious stains on the bedsheet and the bed is creaking loud and noisy. After sleeping second night I was given a rude awakening 7AM in the morning by a rude hotel staff treating me like a thief claiming that I hadn’t paid for the night, only after much checking realizing it was their mistake and only given a simple sorry. They should have advised on the second day and not on the morning itself. I strongly advise travellers to look elsewhere and avoid this establishment at all costs!

The hotel is located a bit far from Vientiane city center. I arrived hotel around 8.30 PM, most restaurants still open around the hotel are Chinese restaurant. Inside the hotel was quite dark and old-fashioned. The staff were helpful. Soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, towel, hair dryer, slippers were provided. No shampoo, hair conditioner, shower cap, body lotion, cotton bud and cotton pad were provided.

Located in the China Town area, less than half an hour walk to the night market and food streets. An old building with antique features still retained in the room (door knot, door hinges, bed). Suitable for Chinese speaking travelers as the local employees could also speak the language.
