Altwienerhof Aparthotel

Vienna|0.25km from Arik-Brauer-Haus
The moment we stepped into the Altwienerhof we were taken by the cosiness of the place and the beautiful viennese decor. This is not a big hotel like hotel chains, but it has everything to make your stay comfortable. A drinks vending machine, a lift, soundproof windows and above all it is spotlessly clean. There is a small inner lovely garden which - I'm guessing - can be used for a coffee or a drink during spring or summer times and as a space for smokers. At check in we were faced by a very frustrating incident : we left our small bag containing our travel docs and camera on the train we took at the airport. Immediately Valentin who received us at the reception, made a quick search on the internet for the trains lost and found, and sent them an email on our behalf explaining the incident. Which helped us a lot in retrieving back our lost bag. Valentin was always there to answer questions and give advices and maps on what to do and how to go. The room was spacious, with 2 soundproof windows overlooking the street. An ensuite very well equipped bathroom. Shower cabin has strong hot water. The bed was a super confy double bed. The room contains a sofa, a table and a classic wardrobe. No dressing table, but a wall mirror. No A/C but a fan which we never used because of the time of year was not that hot. Also no minibar in the room. The room was cleaned daily. The breakfast room was really nice with classic viennese style decor, large mirrors and classic furniture. It is on the ground floor overlooking the street. Breakfast itself has everything you could need: sausages, boiled eggs, varieties of cold cuts and cheeses, maybe 10 types of teas and a Nespresso coffee machine. Here i would like to mention Sayed, who was always there greeting us with a smile, friendly chats and provided my wife with hot milk every morning. The location is excellent. Reachable easily by public transport. At at 10 minutes walk to Mariahilfer Street, and at the intersection of a metro line, tram line and a bus stop. A large supermarket is across the main street. Many restaurants around. At the reception, beside the exit door, there a coat hanger with some coats and hats, also some umbrellas for the guests to borrow on cold and rainy days if they are not prepared. We were very pleased at the Altwienerhof and felt at home, and specially impressed by the staff's attitude and willingness to help. Very much recommended, and would definitely stay there again.

Hotel Westbahn

The Westbahn hotel was in a 1950's building mostly renovated up to modern standards and in perfect condition, but keeping some of the original elements like an old lift (which was super slow). I enjoyed my room. The only negative thing about it was that some traffic noise from the street came through. There was no AC, but in March it wasn't an issue. The hotel is located very close to the Westbahnhof railway station. There was a shopping mall in the station. In addition there was a supermarket directly across the street. Breakfast was really good. It had e.g. fresh croissants, bratwurst and a pancake machine which prepared fresh pancakes by the press of a button.
Ibis Wien Mariahilf

The staff were very helpful. They could help us out even though we do not speak German. The check in and check out was quick, the breakfast was plenty and had a lot of varieties. Plus point for the DIY, fresh waffels. We were not staying long enough to try out all provided services, but what we tried was good.
Oliver Apartments | Contactless Check-IN

Everything went pretty smoothly, the apar**ent was very clean, the bed was comfortable although not really sure what the second midget pillow is about. The shower was powerful and always lots of hot water. There are manuals for appliances on the guest app but that's not going to help you much with the dishwasher as there's no English version so you will have to guess. The kitchen area has everything you need but is very compact with no prep area, there's not even room for the kettle so that is in a different area of the apar**ent. There's plenty of cupboard space and the microwave/grill cooks well. Just a couple of things to be aware of, they send you a link to check in on the morning of your stay which was fine but when you get there the machine can't find you, I then had to call to try and sort it out , it couldn't find us because they had allocated a room number and emailed it to me, tbh checking my emails is the last thing I'm going to be doing whilst travelling so that could be a bit clearer as when you check in they don't tell you that's what they're going to do. The second is the tv, there are a lot of channels but only one in English which is the China and global tv news which as you can imagine gets a bit boring after a while. There's a supermarket across the road which says it closes at 8 but they want you out at 7.30 and closes earlier at weekends so make sure you get everything that you want earlier in the day. There's also a couple of nice restaurants close by, Bauernbraeu which is Austrian and Al teatro l'idea which is Italian. The underground is really close by and only takes a few minutes to walk.
Hotel Mercure Raphael Wien
4/558 Reviews
The Mercure Raphael Vienna Reasons for choosing it: It was an affordable 4 star hotel in the city center of Vienna. Depending on traffic it's 40 Min. from the Airport. If you take the train, the Mercure Raphael is almost adjacent to the trainstation Vienna Mainstation. The Rooms: Our room was small, but clean and had an ok view. The bathroom was adequate for a four star hotel. Yet, there was no room service, no instructions, no fridge just a small boiler to make tea or coffee. The room was also bright and didn't look old - unlike the lifts. Breakfast: Don't expect too much from that breakfast. It wasn't ”Viennese” except for the chocolate cake. It was ample and filled up properly but the breakfast room was just a makeshift extension of the evening bar with not enough tables. Also the quality of the food was questionable: there was deli meat, no sausage or cooked bacon. It was just cheap deli meat from Aldi or Billi. The scrambled was ok. The bread tasted like warmed up industrial style bread from the grocery. The non-fresh juice came from the juice provider company. All coffee came from one single coffee machine, that wasn't a better machine than that in any bureau. Nice try! I don't know what 4 Stars means nowadays, but I have seen better - much better! Yet, for the price and location it's not all that bad either!

Leonardo Hotel Vienna Otto Wagner

The room was very clean with comfortable beds, and I regretted not having a fridge and air conditioning, and we didn't know and was warm in the first night. Super welcome reception, explains how to locomote in the city, metro from the green and red line to 100m. Breakfast costs €8 per person and can be paid at the time, sensational check-out time, in the middle of the day, The hotel has the opportunity to rest a little more, without having to spend time in shopping to get the flight. I liked it very much. Internet works very well.
