This was the second time we stayed at Le Cuisinier. It is in a beautiful situation in the heart of the countryside. On both occasions we had a garden room with a small area to sit outside and relax. The dinner was again one of the highlights of our stay - beautifully cooked and beautifully presented. Dinner is served on the covered terrace beside the house. Jakob and Cees are perfect hosts, attentive without being intrusive, so the whole experience was very relaxing. We would like to stay longer next time and explore the region.

What a gorgeous little bolt hole in the quietest part of France we have ever visited! Not a sound, other than the song birds. Jakob and Cees made us so welcome, our room was small but clean, comfortable and just what we needed after a long drive from the south. The three-course (or four, if you want cheese) was absolutely deliciously mouth-watering and expertly cooked by Jakob and the personal touch to the printed menu was delightful. All overlooking peaceful fields. The gardens are brimming with flowers and buzzing bees. We cannot wait to come back and next time we will stay for more than one night!

Jakob and Caas were welcoming, friendly and excellent hosts. The room was so pretty and charming, we were delighted. It was a bit off the beaten track but well worth it. Situated in a quiet little village with views over the countryside and a fabulous garden with a terrace and tables outside each room for pre dinner drinks. Our meal was outstanding and we had an excellent selection of wine. Breakfast was equally superb. We will definitely stay here again.

We spent one night at Le Cuisinier en Combraille and were made to feel very welcome by Jacob and Cees. The house and gardens are an oasis of tranquility and the room we stayed in was lovely. Jacob’s cooking made for a memorable evening. Add in the EV charging point for our car, and it was a perfect stopover. Would highly recommend.

My wife and I went here for a couple of days ‘change of scenery’ and letting ourselves be spoiled and pampered. And man, that was spot on! What an experience! The rooms are comfortably spacious, the garden is lush, green and with ample relaxation possibilities. And then the food, my oh my……. Jacco, one of the two owners, is not only a super friendly host, but also a professional cook which results in extraordinarily delicious meals, from breakfast to dinner. No need for you to look any further: ‘Le cuisinier en Combraille’ is your place to be. Give Jacco and Cees our warmest regards and enjoy your stay to the fullest. We’re absolutely positive you’ll like it.

Hosts Jakob and Cees are charming. The place and its setting are lovely and the food is excellent. Our room was large and airy. Our dog was made as welcome as we were, with two bowls and food for her set out in the room. We will be back when we're next in the area, and would make a detour to stay here again, preferably for more than one night next time.

Having previously enjoyed the excellent food served at this venue, booked a room for most recent weekend visit to the area and the level of comfort, relaxation and service was as perfect as we expected. We stayed in the main house, in a beautifully decorated and well serviced room. Levels of comfort were high and the food, as expected, was excellent. A fantastic retreat in beautiful surroundings and with outstanding customer service.

A wonderful welcome. Lovely hosts. Beautiful gardens. Extraordinary food! We were looking for a couple of days of rest in this quiet corner of France and received not only a quiet respite but an escape from crowds, noise, traffic and the crush of travel. I can't imagine a better place to slow down and breathe. Started each day with a stunning breakfast overlooking the incredible gardens. Stayed for dinner the first night that we arrived and then quickly rebooked dinner for the next two nights as it was extraordinary! You will be welcomed as guests but will leave as friends; we cannot wait to return one day!
