The Royal is a traditional hotel which, although clean and extremely friendly, is now under new ownership and in need of a physical upgrade in terms of decor, rooms and facilities which one anticipates it will now receive. The hotel's strongest suit by far is the food and the service both of which are brilliant. I do hope that modernization doesn't throw the baby out with the bathwater.

Very attentive service and very clean and well decorated rooms. Dinner was excellent and breakfast menu covered everything. Very friendly reception team and very good location, parking easy. Very comfortable public areas and bar staff always available for refreshments.

The hotel is well situated and the staff, rooms and food were all brilliant. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room was serviced daily. Bar drinks are reasonably priced and food tasty. I swam in the pool most days and enjoyed it.

Fantastic stay. Lovely old building, the grounds are so well maintained. Staff are knowledgeable and friendly helping us book tables and secure taxis. Our room was spotless and food was incredible throughout our stay. We can’t thank you all enough. Wonderful.
