Hotel Villa Sara

Venice|0.92km from Parco Buozzi
Hotel Villa Sara Review - Trip Advisor - 13/8/23 After BA cancelled our flight back to the UK last minute, we had to scramble to get 2 additional nights’ accommodation near Venice Airport while we waited for the next available flight. Our requirements were simple: - near the airport - not too expensive - had a restaurant onsite - had an outdoor pool And could accommodate a family of 4 at very short notice in the middle of the busy August season. Hotel Villa Sara was perfect... and in the end, the family agreed our 2 night emergency accommodation was actually the surprise highlight of our week in Italy! - The pool was at a delicious temperature and not too crowded. - There were plenty of sunbeds and parasols - The poolside music was at a pleasant volume (and we appreciated the 90s vibe rather than the banging Euro-pop we'd been tortured with the rest of the trip) - The pool side bar and snacks were varied and tasty - the local IPA was great! - The dinner in the evening was a real treat - the fresh fettuccini carbonara was one of the best I have tested. The hotel itself is inside an old villa - and it is 3 star and not trying to be modern or corporate and shiny. We enjoyed the rustic charm of closing the shutters at night! The rooms are comfy and have everything you might need - a mini fridge, air con (ours worked fine), tea/coffee. All the staff we met were friendly and helpful and, as a result, our BA flight disaster was turned into a fun, relaxing extra 2-day treat! Thanks for your incompetence BA… We would not have discovered Hotel Villa Sara without you!

This hotel is advertised as 3 stars, but comes nowhere near to meeting the minimum requirements for 3 stars - It may have been a long time ago but it is definitely not anymore. Staff are not Italian, but from Bangladesh. Communication was an issue - there was only one staff member that worked in the afternoon that could understand English. If you ask them to order you a taxi, they get one of their ”friends” to transport you (which costs more than a normal taxi). The rooms are very small and tired. The bathroom floors are very slippery - my mother fell and hurt herself. Check-in was only available from 3 pm. We arrived on an 11 am flight and were made to wait till 3 pm. There is nowhere to leave luggage securely until check-in. After waiting till 3.30, the cleaner was still busy in the room when we went upstairs to settle in. There is no dining facility (the dining room is closed up). The air-conditioning only operates in the cooler hours of the day - not active between 1 am and 6 am and also between 9 am and 4 pm, which are the hottest parts when needed most and turns off if you open a window and you have to call reception to reset it. It turns off when you leave the room and remove the key. Lots of mosquitoes. We had two different rooms during our stay and both had issues with non-working lights and power points, no bar fridge, and only 1 skinny pillow (more were supplied after multiple requests). There is a lift, but only large enough for one person and a small suitcase. the two of us had to take turns in the lift with our suitcases. There is nowhere in the bathroom to put clothes, toiletries, etc (only one small towel rail and hook) - nowhere in the shower for soaps, etc. Rooms are only serviced (cleaned and re-stocked) every second day. It is convenient to public transport, however, there are very limited and mostly poor eating options in the area. The beds were comfy enough. Only Italian channels were available on the TV in the room.

Myself and my daughter travelled from England as a 21st birthday treat for my daughter and stayed for 4 nights. The hotel is in a perfect location, you can get a number 2 bus outside that takes you in to venice. The train station is a 25 minute walk or you can get a number 2 bus there also. The hotel sell bus tickets for 3 euros each. You can get a coach from the train station to to the airport for 10 euros. There are lots of shops and restaurants just a 2 minute walk from the restaurant. The hotel is lovely, very clean and tidy. The air conditioning in the room is wonderful, their is also a fridge and a safe. Our room was cleaned daily. We had breakfast included and I'm really glad we did, the breakfast room is very pretty (looks better than photos) and there was lots of choice, scrambled eggs, toast, cereals, yogurts, fruit, croissants, cakes and more. The staff were so lovely to us. Our European plug didn't work, the kind staff member lent one to us which was an absolute godsend, thank you so much, another staff member suggested getting the bus from the train station to the airport which really helped us, thank you. The owners were also really lovely. We saw the lady every morning at breakfast, she worked very hard making sure our breakfast was perfect and it was. The Husband was equally as lovely helping his wife and also managing the desk and his English was great too. We had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend this hotel.

Few minutes walk to the tram stop and direct line to Venice approx 30 mins. Ask the locals about how to get a tram ticket online super easy. Friendly staff. Missed out on the breakfast as we got there so late but overall great place and good value.

Mestre Centro
The hotel is situated at an ideal location, right in the heart of the city. Access to public transportation, such as buses and trams, is only a short 5-10 minute walk away from the hotel. The Marco Polo airport is easily accessible within 15 minutes via public transportation, as is the old city of Venice. With frequent transportation options available, this is a great location. While the rooms may be slightly old-fashioned, they are still comfortable for those wishing to rest and enjoy breakfast before heading out for the day. The staff were friendly and Lorenzo, in particular, was especially helpful and accommodating. He went the extra mile to ensure my stay was comfortable, even arranging a specific breakfast for me during Ramadan. Overall, the price for the hotel was more than reasonable.

Location: Very well suited for a trip to Venice, relatively quiet, although located on a main street. Nearby shops and restaurants within walking distance. With a day ticket, recommended (20.-€), all public VMs, including those on the water, can be used. Rooms: Very clean, modern rooms in a relatively old house, can't be guessed from the outside, we were pleasantly surprised. Beds are very comfortable for us, there are no lying hollows! Parking at the house free of charge! And that just before Venice! Service: Absolutely nice, competent, friendly (is there more words for hospitality?) hosts. Breakfast was very good by Italian standards, especially the fresh figs...just eat with their skins...molto bene...Allergies (I have lactose intolerance, please specify when booking) are catered for comprehensively. Many thanks... Grazie Mille... Furthermore, you get a lot of help and tips for a visit to Venice. In short, absolutely recommendable for a short or longer stay. Communication: WLAN very good, stable bandwidth.
