We stayed here in May 25. I had initially booked a package but the flights changed so had to find a new hotel. I chose this hotel due to its ratings and price. I hadn't realsied what a perfect location it was, in a wonderful square, next to the Grand Canal and a 5 minute walk to San Marco Basilica. The hotel itself was comfortable. Our room wasn't gian but we had a private balcony each morning where we enjoyed breakfast delivered to the room for no extra charge. We also received a welcome bottle of prosecco on ice when we checked in. Great touch. All staff were really friendly and helpful and fluent in English. Would 100% recommend this hotel.

I visited Venice with my wife and 2 boys - 14 and 7 yrs in July. I must say our experience has been fabulous. First of all, a huge shout out to the hotel staff. They are really AMAZING!! They made sure we had a fantastic experience. First of all, I had requested an early checkin since my flight from the US was supposed to land around 10:30 am local time and we wanted to freshen up and have a quick nap before exploring Venice. The hotel staff (special mention to Chiara) accommodated my request and our room was ready at around 12:30 pm. The hotel is a little dated and small but then very well kept. However, it is located in a very safe and central location. All the key attractions like - Basilica, San Marco square, Doges palace etc. are around 8-10 minutes walk. Very comfortable for first time visitors. Rialto bridge is around 15-20 minutes walk. All the stores like - Gucci, Prada, LV etc. are hardly 5 - 7 minutes walk from here. There are many restaurants and cafes nearby as well. If you are using private water taxi, public (Alilaguna) or shared taxi from the airport then it will drop you right at S. Maria del Giglio Vaporetto stop. It is hardly 2 minutes walk to the hotel from this stop and so is very convenient if you have luggage and kids. It also serves as a perfect stop for you if you would like to visit any other areas like - Rialto bridge etc. by water taxi or would like to go to the train station and take trains to Florence etc. We were greeted with a bottle of wine, some snacks and juice when we entered the room. The hotel also has an excellent complimentary breakfast. You need to select your options the day before and hand it over to the front desk. The rooms are spacious ( I had booked a junior suite). There is a bed room and it has 2 single beds and the living room has 2 sofas that turn into a bed and also a dining table to have your breakfast. There is a very small kitchen with a small fridge just in case you would want to prepare some hot water, tea/coffee etc. All in all, we had an amazing time here and would love to come back to this hotel. I highly recommend this hotel for first time visitors, especially families with young kids.

The hotel and staff are the friendliest, nicest, and loveliest. We were welcomed with fruits and champagne. They have a nice breakfast selection which they either bring to your room or you can go to the bar in the lobby to eat. The only negative is the beds are 2 single beds to make a king size bed but I would still stay here again and recommend to others. It is right off the Giglio public water bus stop which we took from the train station with our luggage. It's busy if you come during rush hour but still not bad if you don't want to pay $80 for a water taxi. It's also a nice 10 minute walk to St. Marks square.

We recently stayed at Palazzo del Giglio for 3 nights. The hotel is spotlessly clean, and our room was of a good size with plenty of storage, a jacuzzi bath and shower. There was a very welcome bowl of fresh fruit in the room and shortly after we arrived, a bottle of prosecco on ice was brought to our room. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome. Breakfast is ordered the previous evening and served either in the bar or your room. We chose to eat in the bar and there was a good selection of food and drinks on offer. The location of the hotel was perfect - just a couple of minutes walk to the San Maria del Giglio vaporetto stop, and within easy walking distance of Piazza San Marco. The only very slight disappointment was that the bar was closed. It would have been pleasant to have been able to have a nightcap after returning to the hotel in the evening after dinner. I'm not sure of the reason for this - perhaps it is only open in the high season? Having said that, the fridge in the hotel room is stocked with soft drinks, wines, and miniature spirits and I believe drinks can also be ordered via room service. This is only a minor detail and didn't worry us. We would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel, and it will certainly be our first choice next time we visit Venice.

We just returned from a brief stay at Palazzo del Giglio. It is a wonderful hotel, both for the facilities and the caring and attentive staff. The location is perfect (located in a quiet square just behind the famous Gritti Palace). There was some construction going on next door during the day, but that didn't affect us at all. The hotel is a 3 minute walk to the vaparetto stop (water bus) and water taxi stand. It's also a very short walk to Piazza San Marco, shopping, restaurants, etc. We had a junior suite, for our family of four, which consisted of two separate rooms (one with a double bed and the other with two pull-out sofa beds), a bathroom and a full kitchenette with a dining table. It was the perfect space for our family as finding a family suite with two separate rooms is rare in Europe. Each night, you fill out a paper indicating what you want for breakfast and they bring it to your room the next morning (very elegantly on a silver tray). Although the hotel is beautiful, clean, and in a great location, what truly makes the Palazzo del Giglio special is its staff. While we were walking around Venice, my husband fainted and had to go to the Venice hospital. I mentioned this to the woman who had checked us in the previous day and she told me to let her know if we needed anything. I was in and out over the next several hours (back and forth to the hospital and being with our kids), and each time there was a different person at the desk who knew what had happened and asked how my husband was. I was so impressed with how the staff communicated with each other so that everyone knew what had happened. Thankfully, my husband was ok (just dehydrated) and the man working at the desk that night was so helpful in arranging a water taxi to pick him up and bring him back to the hotel. I definitely felt cared for and less alone, during this scary time, because of the attentiveness and care of the del Giglio staff. I'm sure we'll return to Venice someday, and when we do, we would not hesitate to stay at the Palazzo del Giglio. Grazie mille a tutti a Palazzo del Giglio!

This hotel is just fabulous! Amongst the many excellent features are the superb location within a stone’s throw from all the top sites, the spacious rooms and the excellent service. Elizabetta and every one of her staff are just fabulous. This tranquil hotel is a haven of peace and tranquility in the hustle and bustle of Venice and we highly recommend it.

Nice hotel, great guest services. Nice welcome champagne and fruit. Although, walls are paper thin so wake up a lot from people outside and other guests in hotel. Great location in the heart of it all! Walking distance from almost everything.

Very well appointed hotel close to the water bus stand. Quick and easy check in. Very comfy and clean room, great shower and a comfy bed. Breakfast can be taken in room or if preferred on the communal dining room. Staff very friendly and helpful especially with recommendations for places to eat. Would stay again if revisited Venice.
