You MUST stay at this hotel in Venice! I will definitely be back! This hotel is so lovely, in a fantastic location and has all the accommodations you could need. This is a family owned hotel and the owners greet you every morning at breakfast to make sure you're enjoying your stay. They made us feel so special! Venice was our last stop and staying at this hotel was the best way to end our trip.

Cannot possibly recommend more. Staff is incredibly welcoming and helpful, and the owners Barbara and Matteo prepared a wonderful breakfast each morning. The terrace over looking the bridge and canal is incredible and alone makes the stay worth it. I was sad to leave and look forward to coming back.

This is the second time we have stayed at the Al Ponte Antico. The fine people at this boutique hotel provide travelers with fond memories of Venice and are kind, professional, and are eager to recommend how to enjoy your visit. But more than these fine qualities, they have such pride in this hotel and their beloved city. It comes through in every interaction you'll have with them. Matteo and Barbara ensure that every part of your experience in their hotel is perfect--the beautiful breakfasts with homemade pastries and breads, breakfast and cocktails on their terrace, room accommodations, and 24-hour reception availability. The rooms are beautiful and clean. Our bed was comfortable and the pillows were awesome (different types of pillows to suit everyone). Linens were high quality and lots of storage space. Transportation from the train station and airport was arranged for us and made arrival/departure enjoyable--you are able to arrive directly to the hotel on the grand canal--someone from the hotel greets each visitor (thank you, Matteo, for welcoming us). Relying on Oliver for restaurant recommendations and for information about visiting Murano and Burano was great. We hope you can experience being a guest here--it is one of our fondest memories of traveling in over 20 countries.

My wife and I started our honeymoon at Al Ponte Antico and it set an unbelievably high bar for the entire trip. Matteo and the whole staff were so hospitable, on a first name basis immediately upon arrival and at guests’ beck and call at all hours. They went out of their way to provide recommendations, book us reservations, and schedule our transportation throughout our stay. The level of service - and view from the terrace overlooking the Realto Bridge - cannot be beat. We would highly recommend this beautiful boutique hotel - even above some of the bigger and more well known spots in Venice. 10/10.

The location of this hotel cannot be beat. It is on the Grand Canal and is perfectly suited for walking through Venice. But- the personal service is the standout here. The owners are the most wonderful people and make sure everything is taken care for you. They made us dinner reservations , made all of our transportation reservations and gave us recommendations as to some stores we might want to visit. We were in two different rooms (we stayed here before and after our cruise) and loved both rooms. Room 108 is the most unbelievable room as you are directly onto grand canal. Yes- the furniture is a bit worn. Yes- the beds are hard. Yes- the rooms could use a little love but I would stay here again in a heartbeat. The views of the Rialto bridge will stay with us forever. We both hope to return. Thank you!

We visited Venice in April and had the good fortune of staying at the amazing Hotel. We have stayed at alot of hotels both big and small and I can say that this is the best experience that we have ever had. We were met on their dock by the owner Matteo, who was so welcoming and gave us a tour of the hotel and talked so passionately about it as well as Venice. The passion that Matteo exuded for the city and his hotel makes you feel very lucky to be able to meet this man and stay at his hotel. It’s a family affair as his wife is also involved, she bakes all the bread and pastries daily for the top shelf breakfast. The view from the balcony of the hotel can’t be found anywhere else in Venice. Sit back enjoy a cocktail and take in the beauty of Venice. I would have been content to sit out there all day reading and sipping coffee. When we return to Venice, we would never think of staying anyplace else. Thank you to Matteo and the rest of his staff, well done.

The setting of this hotel on the Grand Canal, near the Rialto bridge can’t be beat. Our room, which was one of their lower tiers, Superior Double Room, 105, could use an update. It wasn’t dirty but the bed is a little hard, and the furnishings are a bit old. I think there is a difference between great service and over the top service. Don’t get me wrong they treat you well, but it almost feels like too much. If you want to stay at a hotel where they always know what you’re doing, or will stop you to make suggestions every time you leave then this is the place for you. If you want to almost go unnoticed then don’t stay here. They will know your business 24/7.

We just stayed at this boutique hotel last week, and it was one of the best experiences we’ve ever had. Aside from being a perfect location near the Rialto Bridge, the staff is extremely warm and attentive. Matteo and his wife Barbara set the tone by being unbelievable hosts, and could not have been nicer. One of our favorite things to do while in Venice was to simply sit on their patio overlooking the water and watch Venice move along. If we ever return to Venice, this will be the only place we will stay!

My husband and I visited Venice in early April. Staying at this hotel was a highlight of the trip. The location is fantastic and the owner, Mateo and his lovely wife are so friendly and welcoming. Each morning Mateo and his wife made a delicious breakfast for the guest. His wife made all the pastries and Mateo's eggs were delicious! The entire staff was amazing and very attentive. It was so relaxing to have a glass of wine while sitting on the patio overlooking the Grand Canal and Rialto Bridge. My husband and I have nothing but good things to say about this hotel. I highly recommend staying at the Al Ponte Antico!
