This hotel is centrally located to the water bus and many restaurants. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the Acqua Alta, which is basically a flooded street. We had to wade through calf high water to reach the front of the hotel where we were greeted by a slim wooden board propped up from the street to the door. I'm not sure what this is for as you would be hard pressed to walk up it or use it to get your luggage from the street to the door. A large board or an old door would have done the trick, but we were soaked before we even got to this point. Granted, we understand the flooding is not the fault of the hotel.
The staff at reception are kind and will make you a coffee in the small dining area, but there is no breakfast in house.
Our room was spacious and everything worked well in the bathroom. I was grateful for the terrazzo floors because when we arrived, our shoes were soaked and ruined. I think these floods are seasonal and we visited in October.
