The location is good and the hotel is just fine. Need some renovation around the path leading to beach. Many opt for this location for ease of access to beaches, if that is not maintained it will lead to disappointment.
The SPA is not per the expectation and the maintenance of the spa is very bad. Food is above average. The buffet breakfast is fine but lacks variety for those staying longer. Overall it was a good experience. The attender at the pool Mr. Babu is very good, he should be awarded for his fine service. Overall the hotel staff are polite and well mannered and hear to our concerns.

Excellent Hotel with excellent services. The managers and staffs kept us very comfortable and most importantly accommodated to our toddlers meals during the stay. Very beautiful view as very peaceful hotel!

It was average. The main highlight was pool and the staff. Breakfast was awful very average considering it was taj's unit. The resort is big and lush. It's under renovation currently and I would say not the best of stays during our Kerala trip.

Sylvan surrounding with lot of greenery around, stay was very pleasant. Excellent service with helpful and friendly staff. Delicious food. Very nice spots to visit nearby. Hotel has a very good travel desk to hire vehicles for visiting tourist spots. Housekeeping service is excellent . Dining facilities at the restaurant and in room are very good .

3. Honestly the experience is below my expectations. - No value for money. It’s a premium priced hotel/resort in the area and didn’t feel like it. - Hit’s: -hospitality of few staff members was good - resort is walkable distance to papanasam beach and janardhana temple - Garden area well maintained - Give a family pictures at the time of check-out Misses: -The washroom and room balcony needs complete renovation - Food at the restaurant is barely good. -the indoor activities and board games need maintenance.

Centrally located. No amenities at property except swimming pool. There is absolutely nothing to do in hotel. No kids play area, have kept carrom board, chess and TT in central porch only. Rooms are quite big. Breakfast spread is pathetic, not upto the standards of Taj. Better options available in nearby areas to book near beach and cliff. Better to stay away from Taj, 14k too expensive and not even worth for 5k.

The overall experience at Gateway Varkala was amazing. From the pickup from the Airport, welcoming at the Hotel, the services, the staffs were very helpful, kind and friendly. Especially Reji, Midhila, Nijisha and our driver Sreedhar, made sure we were comfortable and guided us well about the tourist places to visit. We had an amazing time at the Hotel, and the Photoframe as a return souvenir with a pic of us, was a good memory to take back. Thank U Gateway Varkala
