Stayed here twice in the last 4 weeks. The hotel is actually a mix between a motel and a hotel, which I find quite cool. It has something of an American style in Italy. You can park your car right in front of your room, as is typical for a motel. For me personally, that's nothing, because everyone can see into their room when you walk from the car park into the hotel. So I take a room on the first floor, because these rooms all look out onto the beautiful lake. They all have a nice terrace, the rooms are decorated in a kind of shabby-chic-country-style cross-over, which I personally like very much. Breakfast + restaurant I can't judge, but will probably be good. You can sleep with the windows open without any problems because it is quiet. My new favourite hotel in Varese.

After a long time, finally an overnight stay in this beautiful hotel. Closed because of Covid, but now open again. Good: Friendly staff, very nicely furnished rooms (especially deluxe rooms and up). Great pillows, fast wifi, good lighting concept, nice terrace, big bathroom. Not so good: Breakfast room a bit cold in terms of a**osphere
Art Hotel Varese

We based ourselves here for about a week. The staff are friendly and there is a secure bike shed to store your bike. The rooms aren’t terribly large but are nice. Better to ask for a room away from the restaurant, as it can get quite noisy at night, particularly over the weekends. Still and sparkling water provided daily, along with a kettle and tea fixings. Susanna, who looks after the breakfast area, is a gem. The restaurant specialises in seafood. Only about a 5-10 minute walk into town, where there are heaps of cafes and restaurants to choose from. Villa Ponza is just up the hill, behind the hotel, and has an excellent upmarket cafe for lunch, as well as a very worthy modern art museum.

Nice small 3* star hotel on the shore of the Vareser Lake. Very quietly located. Between hotel and lake is only the own garden restaurant. Rooms OK and clean, parks are sufficiently available. A few minutes by car to the city. Breakfast typically Italian, a lot of sweet bakery, the usual toast, cheese and salami. Restaurant was unfortunately closed this evening

We went with another couple for 3 nights. You wind up the hill to the hotel, alongside the (currently out of service) funicular station, with the Sacromonte to explore just behind and spectacular views out across wooded hillside to the plain and Lake Varese some 1600m below. Buses will take you (with one convenient change) into Varese itself. Silvio and his staff were friendly and attentive throughout, ensuring we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Bedrooms were clean and comfortable, each with a large terrace from which to enjoy the views. The highlight is the cooking. We ate off the card with its wide range of enticing dishes. There is a slightly cheaper menu with fewer choices if you want 3 courses - we found 2 courses off the card better. You must try the tasting menu! At 66 euros each it was a treat but we thought it excellent value for money. It is not specified beforehand - exactly what you get will depend what ingredients are available and best day by day. We started with flavoursome smoked fish, followed by traditional tuna with veal sauce, better than I have ever tasted. Then came risotto with truffle (which we love). We thought the spaghetti with field mushrooms even better. Then duck, beautifully cooked and tender. And an artistically presented chocolate based dessert. Having asked what style of wine we preferred and at roughly what price, Silvio produced a notably excellent Sicilian red to accompany our main course. The evening was outstanding and hugely enjoyable.

It's a fairytale! It took me a lot to decide if to take the risk to travel or not. I'm glad I did take the risk! This is the first holiday when I don't check anything about the place I was going to stay, surrounding area not at all, just wanted to escape London for a bit. From far one of the most beautiful places I've ever stayed. The hotel looks like a museum, incredibly amazing, surprises didn't chased to happen, they have a pool, tennis court, soccer court so many facilities, it's crazy. The room I've stayed, stunning, the view from the balcony took my breath away. It's quite, it's beautiful, it's perfect! Hotel stuff, they couldn't do any better than this, friendly, willing to assist whenever necessary, I felt like home! I've even got an early check in 🤗.Thank you Domenico, Monica, Andrea, Manpreet and everyone else!!! For anyone looking to escape the madness from a busy city like London let's say, this is the best place to be! P.S. make sure you bring mosquitoes spray, as I've mentioned I haven't done any inquiries before coming so, mosquitoes attack wasn't fun at all. I was looking forward to have dinner in the outdoors restaurant which ended up being a nightmare, but it was entirely my fault, the hotel is located on a hill, surrendered by trees obviously you'll have to deal with mosquitoes. I highly recommend this place and can't wait to come back! Thank you🤗, Mirela
