Chateau de Varennes

Magnificent parenthesis where the authenticity of this splendid castle 2 steps from home … does a lot of good! Escape for a night to quickly forget the difficult world of everyday life: very well equipped and very comfortable room and very hearty breakfast served in your room where everything is refined, hearty and excellent :-) We will be back… Thank you our children

The reception of the castellans, the setting, the medieval castle, everything was in tune. We spent, my sister and I, one night in a superb room decorated with an oratory, which is unusual! The meal at the restaurant "Un passage au Château" was excellent and very friendly. The breakfast, taken on the terrace, was very generous. We will keep excellent memories of this stay.

We had the pleasure of staying in this establishment during May 1st. Despite the incessant rain, we were able to enjoy the outdoors and take many walks (with our dogs allowed in the Château). 3 golf courses are nearby - 20 min max by car. Very good breakfast and dinner (served in the room) as well as the possibility of ordering a good wine boutique. Spacious rooms with period decor and antique objects. We slept very well! The place is quiet and the garden is inhabited by 2 donkeys and many birds. The hosts are extremely helpful and discreet. I highly recommend if you have animals and are looking for privacy ❤️.

Un accueil chaleureux des châtelains à l’écoute, Une chambre spacieuse décorée avec goût et authenticité L’accueil du restaurant est tout bonnement incroyable et les mets de très bonne facture et de bon aloi En plus notre petite chienne a été acceptée très cordialement sans supplément Vivement recommandé !!!

Seule la gentillesse des hôtes sauve cette évaluation de la note capitale. Déco intérieure et extérieure surchargée, souvent anachronique voire kitsch , plus proche du dépôt d'un antiquaire fatigué que d'un château du Moyen-age. Dommage car le lieu a un potentiel incontestable (mais limité par son environnement). Repas prétentieux, sans talent, limite douteux dans mon expérience...et cher ! La lecture des autres avis emphatiques m'a laissé perplexe et forcé à bien mesurer mon jugement ....je le confirme. Allez ...literie confortable.
