What a find! Fantastic little hotel. Absolutely spotless, the staff never stopped cleaning, the lifeguard was scrubbing away every little stain on the ground when the pool closed, never seen the like! We had two adjacent rooms for the 3 of us with huge terraces with sunloungers facing the pool. Never heard the trains, even though we could see the station from our balcony. A perfect 30 minute train trip from Genoa airport, €4 each way! Rooms were excellent with the most comfortable beds, a mini bar and excellent aircon and wifi. Great housekeeping, such hard workers! I'd recommend booking the room with a terrace, so big, with comfy sunloungers and a view of the sea. (Ours was room 211). The staff were amazing and couldn't do enough for us. We hadn't realised it was a holiday weekend in Italy and hadn't booked restaurants. We were lucky to get a table Friday night in a lovely spot, but when we tried several places to book for the Saturday, everything was full. The wonderful Silvia at the hotel got us not only a table in a fabulous restaurant on a holiday weekend, but the best table, on the terrace, beautiful views, dining to the sound of the waves! It was so good we returned for lunch the next day. The hotel is 5 minutes from the beach and they have a deal with a beach club, but we hadn't booked and it was full, as were all of them. It didn't matter, we loved the pool with comfy sunloungers and parasols. Varazze is the perfect destination, all Italians who were so friendly and welcoming, amazing restaurants with stunning seafood, home made pasta and fantastic prices. There are lovely shops cafés and bars, all within a couple of minutes from the hotel. Thanks Hotel Coccodrillo staff for a wonderful holiday with my mother and sister. Highly recommended!!

Booked this hotel quickly and with limited research, as needed an overnight stay in the area. Despite the website saying the rooms have air conditioning, please be aware that this function is only available for a limited period only as the main hotel system is totally shut down at intervals. I appreciate energy consumption is probably an issue, but it needs to be made clear on the website if something is not available to me during my stay.. This meant that when we arrived it was very hot in the room, which after a long drive was a bit disappointing. It also shut down again at 11pm till 6am, so had a very hot and bothered night Not ideal, as we had a very long drive the next day. Probably not so much of an issue in cooler weather, but not when it is hot! Think with a bit more research, there must be better places to stay and visit than here for the price. The walk to the beach is a bit rough and ready and when you do get to the Med, the free bit of sand that is available is very teeny tiny! Breakfast, the pool and staff were all fine. But it must be said, they had limited interest in the air conditional issue, despite me reporting it 4 separate times (including going down to reception at 12 midnight and again at 2am when I was not able to sleep because it was so hot!!!)

Beautiful hotel and residence, very clean and well organized for all your needs. Excellent welcome, polite and very knowledgeable staff. Very nice rooms, comfortable and well furnished. Abundant and very good breakfast, both sweet and savory. The structure has a beautiful and never crowded swimming pool. Very convenient because it is a stone's throw from the station and via the underpass it is a snap to reach the center and the beach.

I booked an apartment with all the hotel services (I still have to understand what they were): -paid for the breakfast service separately: average buffet, but with packaged products and the worst was finding myself with a herbal junk in the buffet for the whole day entire week of my stay, and hard-boiled eggs that were green inside. - it is not possible to have lunch and dinner in the structure. -Very hard and uncomfortable mattresses, I asked for a topper even while paying and they didn't have one. -paid parking: 100m from the hotel and very limited for those with a large car. -I had a dog and a small daughter, the hotel exit is unfortunately located in a curve in the road and therefore dangerous: once I didn't have time to cross before the dog peed, not in the hotel, but in the road in front of it and the lifeguard even scolded us that it would attract other dogs, we apologized and was insistent, I wonder what the point of paying a surcharge for a dog is if this is not taken into account. - one afternoon the hot water didn't work and we gave the little girl a shower by heating the water on the fire, when we called the reception the lady replied that she was alone and couldn't help us - the swimming pool is only open 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon (absurd in a seaside area) I paid for the entire stay at check in, even if I could have done it later, I expressed my disappointment several times even at check out and the answer was: she's a white fly! Well, ma'am, a white fly that will never land on this **** again! I'm sorry that this is the welcome in Varazze. Exaggerated price: to be clear, I paid the same price in a suite in a 5-star hotel in Rimini. The rest of the staff, especially the receptionist Giulio and the breakfast women, have always been very kind.

Nice hotel, a stone's throw from the station, five minutes from the centre. The underpass to reach the center and the beach is comfortable, lit day and night, there are always people passing by so there is no danger. Upon exiting, there is immediately the center and the shops. The hotel is clean, the welcome is very good. Our room was very very nice, well furnished, everything new. A very comfortable bed, fabulous walk-in closet, very beautiful blackout curtains, new bathroom with a beautiful spacious and pleasant shower. Only two things I didn't like: one was the lack of a balcony, so we couldn't wait to dry our costumes, and a really sad view of the adjacent houses. The other thing was the poor soundproofing of the rooms, and the doors make noise when they close, and unfortunately we found very rude neighbors in the room, who shouted and slammed the doors both late at night and early in the morning. All the cleaning staff were also very friendly. The swimming pool is also nice and pleasant, never crowded.

We stayed with them for a weekend. I recommend, close to the center, close to the sea, close to the best restaurants in Varazze. Friendly and helpful staff, especially Giulio!!! We will definitely return.

Hotel far from the sea requires an underpass. Furnishings and rooms are old. Cleanliness is poor. Food quality is insufficient and the room in the basement requires a very uncomfortable staircase to access it. Prices are too high for what is offered.
