A big hotel with clean rooms! There are many halls nearby! The hotel waiters are enthusiastic about helping travelers. Most importantly, it is close to the station, and it is especially convenient to travel to and from Milan! I have lived three times and love it every time!

Excellent modern mini suites in a renovated building just across the road from the Principe train station and on the main street to the historic centre, about 10 mins walk away. (Palazzo Real is on the same street). Entrance to the hotel, like many of the other old buildings is very narrow so take care not to miss it. Surrounded by cafes and restaurants but still pretty quiet. We had a separate bedroom linked to a small sitting area with a super large armchair, desk, mini fridge and tea and coffee making facilities and even a couple of biccies. Bed and pillows were really comfortable. Bathroom was also reasonable size with modern fittings, a shower cubicle (no bath) and complimentary shower gel and body lotion. A buffet breakfast is usually available for 7 euro we were told but was closed due to covid. This was not an issue as there is a decent cafe next door and several others to choose from close by as well. My only criticism was that there was no heating in the room. We could only get the air con to blow out cold air and as it was pretty chilly and wet during our stay, we could really have done with a bit of warmth.

I was very disappointed. I was really looking forward to visiting the resort because from the online photos it looked like a lovely hotel perched high on the cliff with nice facilities. Unfortunately the reality is a different story. The whole property is severely run-down. The pool and bar area look like they haven’t had any work done to them since the 1980’s. The inclinator was not working most of the time, as it needed a rest to not overheat motors. And when it does run, it is smelly, hot and a very loud and rough ride. The bar below the inclinator was derelict. The pool and beach chairs were very old disgusting. The round pool near the restaurant was not being used. With a little refit this could be a great adults only area, with a nice bar and some good music. The main pool was green, and had a feeling of a cheap run down public pool rather than an exclusive cliff top resort pool. The layout of the hotel does not make sense, you take an elevator up to then have to take more stairs up and then down again, it’s like a maze. It has potential to be a great resort with some work, but as it is now I would not recommend it to anyone.

We stayed with my friend for 1 night only but the hotel was nice. The room and the bathroom were nice and clean. We wanted a room with sea view but that’s our mistake for booking last minute so we had a view to the street and nearby train station where the trains went every while but the noise wasn’t a problem for us since the windows worked well. We had some trouble with turning on the air conditioner but the receptionist helped us and showed us how to turn it on. The hotel isn’t far from the sea, maybe a 5 minute walk. The staff allowed us to leave our luggage in the luggage room because we arrived early before check-in and the next day we were leaving later in the afternoon after check-out so we were able to enjoy the beach a lot. The breakfast was okay, they provided choice of food and the waiter was making coffee. The staff was nice but I can’t really speak for their english skills since I went with my Italian friend.

This hotel was the perfect location for us - super close (within 2 mins walk) of the train station which was fab as we used Genoa as a base to explore the coastal region. Hotel room was really lovely and clean. We had a large balcony overlooking the front of the hotel. Naturally being central to a city it is noiser with the road outside but we found the shutters very useful to cancel a lot of this out. Breakfast was fine and the 2 restaurants available as part of the hotel (or Savoia next door) were so handy. With the main Savoia restaurant on floor 7 brilliant - incredible food & a far reaching view. I'd highly recommend for a stay if you're in Genoa.

If you are going to take the Costa cruise which departing from Savona, then this NH hotel would be your best choice to stay in-advance since it is only hundreds of meters to approach the cruise terminal and hotel staff are very friendly and helpful.

The outside of the building is a ”fine example” of 1980's architecture, i.e. grim! Our room was on the first floor, level with some ”feature” triangles in the roof, which served no purpose at all other than to spoil the view of the harbour! Upon entering reception the feel is very opulent. The reception staff were not particularly welcoming...but we were checking in around 10pm (that being the time our flight had landed). We were rather hoping for some food, but the kirchen closed at 10pm, so all we were offered was a ”Cheese Toastie” (which, although very welcoming, did rather strike me that the Hotel was not ”in tune” with flight times and the potential for guests to be checking in and not wanting to have to find a restaurant outside the hotel at that time of the night! The room was large, but had the air of a Hotel Room which had seen nearly 40 years of good servbice, wtihout a great deal of care and attention taken to its upkeep. For example, the built-in wardrobe/cupboard door did not open properly, there was a large scratch on the ”feature” wood panelling around the room and the tile grouting in the shower was black with mould in places. BUT...on the plus side, the air-conditioning worked...and was not too noisey, the room was big enough for the two of us. The bed was large (albeit a big ”squishy” for my liking and there was a kettle/coffee pod machine so we could make our own drinks. We were there for 5 nights, so it is important - in my book - that if you're payng those kind of prices that the room is perfect...It wasn't really perfect. Similarly, because of its location right next door to the Aquarium, there were a large number of small children there, obviously from rich families who were not massively adept at controlling them. We never ate uin the restaurant in the evening, but did take our drinks onto the terrace one evening, where lots of diners had booked a table outside. A famly with three children under 5 then arrived and they continued to scream, run about the place and generally make a relaxzing space very VERY stressful. We took our drinks inside and I happened to comment in my best(?) Italian that the children were beng too noisey...some minutes later the family came inside...and I thought we were going to ahve to move again, but they went out of the hotel altogether! Unfortunately, we were not able to move so quickly the next morning at breakfast, where there was the same family creating havoc in the breakfast area! Next time we will ahve to fnd a hotel which is ”Adults Only”...Being a father of two (now grown-up) children, we were constantly on alert so that our kids didn'6t cause disruption to anyone else around us...That - however - doesn't seem to be the ”European way”! Location-wise was amazing, right on the harbour quaryside.
