Returning to Daku is like going back to a family home. From arriving at the airport, eating dinner and having a massage the welcome was fantastic. Although I went with the premise of another of Daku’s courses - the excellent Mark Wallers acrylic painting workshop - it has been an old round perfect blend of a holiday. Walking early through the bush with pink bananas and snorkelling some amazing reefs were all included. I couldn’t recommend highly enough and will certainly be back!

What an exceptionally friendly place to stay. Cosy bures and villa with pool. The PM of Fiji stayed one evening which was exciting. All the staff at Daku Resort - JJ and Delia, Joe, Josika, Peggy, Ana, Aubrey, Saki, Mafi, Litia, Barbara, Mili, Epi, Dharmend, Sowane, Captain Droto - Dem, Meli, Gadrevi, Kirisitiana and Shahista made me feel so welcome. Nothing was too much bother and everything always delivered with a cheery smile. Daku resort is in a stunning location with ocean views from every angle. Joe looked after me so well and we visited Kokoma (delicious chocolate makers) next to the resort; a beautiful waterfall to swim in and under at Vuadomo; a traditional village at Naweni where sacred fresh water red prawns were enticed to the surface through singing - pointing at them not allowed. There are excellent scuba diving centres near the resort.

Loved my stay at Daku Resort! I spent two weeks there. My first week was a meditation retreat with Susie Spinks (wonderful). I can’t say enough about what a wonderful time I had. If you are looking for a fancy, dress up style resort; you may be disappointed. However, if you are looking for a fabulous location, genuine warmth, hospitality, great service, and amazing food; this is your place!! Everyone is more than willing to help make your stay enjoyable. The views are breathtaking. Town is a short walk away. Right across the street from Daku is wonderful snorkeling and swimming. Snorkeling gear is provided,along with kayaks, at no additional cost. All in all, this is a fun place to be, and I look forward to going back next year!

I loved my stay at Daku Resort. The views from any point in the property are absolutely stunning. The room and the bed I was in was so comfy I was barely able to get out of the room in the morning. The corals just nearby are full of colourful fish, even two steps away from the property. Just borrow snorkeling gear from the reception and go exploring. There’s a small road between the property and the water but barely any cars, feels like a far away hidden paradise, peaceful and quiet, yet to be discovered. If you like me prefer to avoid the crowds and massive tourism locations, this is a true gem!.

Everything about Daku was a delight, from the well-appointed room, to the beautiful setting, friendly staff, terrific service and delicious food. Warm, friendly and down to earth, every day felt more magical than the last. It’s close to town and there are so many excursions to go on on the island, snorkelling and a waterfall swim bring particular favourites. I stayed for just under a week and wished it could have been longer - there’s nowhere else I’d rather stay now that I’ve been to Daku and I’m sure I’ll be back!

The resort and staff are delightful. There was a small plunge pool right on our deck and we had a kitchen too. It is a short walk to town where you can visit the shops and the large outdoor market. We bought fresh fish and vegetables and cooked a delightful meal. The resort has wonderful meals as well, even 4 course dinners. There are also kayaks to use, we kayaked to town one day; such fun! Snorkeling right off the beach in front of the resort was super as well as snorkeling around Split rock which is just down the road a short way.

JJ, Delia, Aubrey, Joe, Peggy, Joshika, Tukai, Saki and all at Daku are life changers after visiting Fiji and their special resort. We had a large group and even though I’m sure we were overwhelming at times, they never made us feel so. There were so many laughs, hugs and genuine connection moments throughout our retreat week. The food was delicious, the space was comfortable, the culture was always present and overall the time spent at Daku was glorious. I was not ready to leave and am already contemplating when I can go back - I will absolutely be staying with JJ and their staff who was like family again.

The staff were so friendly, patient, and accommodating. Got a lot of use out of the plunge pools. Peggy, Joe, and Saki were always available to answer a question, hack open a fresh coconut or mix up a tasty cocktail. JJ’s stories provided for fantastic dinner entertainment. Daku and staff made our Goddess retreat truly magical!!!
