My husband and I stayed at Namale for a little over one week last year, and could not have imagined a better experience. It was a long trip to get there, but the breathtaking location, friendly and attentive service, and delicious fresh foods made it absolutely worth the travel time. Our villa included a plunge pool, hot tub, indoor and outdoor showers, three private decks, a staircase down to our very own private beach/ocean access, and a pool table and giant movie projector screen. Everything (with the exception of the evening couples and private spa experience we did) was included! We were driven to a private picnic at a waterfall were we could go swimming, had a candlelit dinner on the beach under a rock formation, were taken to a snorkeling location and had a private tour, took a bus into town and toured the market and shops…the options felt unlimited. The bowling alley was also a fun spot! My husband and I hope to go back again at some point in our lives, because we both agree it was one of the best trips either of us had ever been on.

Bula It was great and exceeded our expectations. Food, amenities and facilities were top notch. What was incredible, and made all the difference, was the level of service by the staff (all of them). The people were extremely friendly, sincere and happy to please with any request. I put that in my feedback at the end of our vacation. Vinaka vaka levu A&M, Brisbane

Great food, service & activities. Super friendly staff; special shout out to Paul (guide) & Christian (dining). Exposure to local culture was a bonus. Very chill place, stayed only 4 nights; too short a visit. Would definitely come back and stay longer; 6-7 nights would be ideal.

This is not the Four Seasons, but it offers good value for money in a gorgeous setting with many facilities. Infrastructure 5/5 - Impressive beach front villas - Quality furniture all around - Nice gym, impressive spa, crazy play room - Large resort with plenty of small private places to dine/relax/propose... - A stone throw from the Savusavu Airport Service 3/5 - Housekeeping visits inconsistent - Restaurant staff unequal, some nice, some almost rude - Room service hands you the tray of wrapped plates, etc, for you to arrange, and forgets items. - Spa staff seems to be annoyed by visitors requests - Golf carts rarely come Food 3/5 - Restaurant is set menu (that you apparently cannot get in room service, which is essentially American bar food) - Uninspiring menus not well executed - All inclusive is good, but alcohol is all very low shelf

My husband and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary at this resort. It was an awesome experience. The rooms, food and the drinks were all top-notch. We spent several days relaxing at the spa, which was also amazing as they set up a very special massage and pedicure service for us. The staff was exceptionally welcoming and made us feel right at home. I would definitely recommend this resort and I’m looking forward to returning. * it’s the tropics, so you will see ants, spiders and a geico — but sparingly. They sprayed for mosquitoes, but where still a few floating around. They provide you with tropical strength bug spray and repellent in your room and throughout the resort.

Everything about this holiday was centred around relaxing and doing everything at your own pace. It is perfectly set up to do as much or as little as you want. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the accommodation and grounds are extremely well kept. I wouldn’t hesitate to go back.

Namale was our final stop on our trip to Fiji. We had high expectations coming here, and our experience was truly above and beyond what we had dreamed of. This is a true 5star resort in every aspect. The grounds were immaculately maintained, our suite was very private, romantic and had a plunge pool with stunning views, the food was top notch and the staff were out of this world. They made us feel so welcomed and pampered from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. The activities team was amazing - especially Christine who went out of her way to take us on incredible snorkelling adventures. Looking forward to coming back one day!

The biggest downside of Namale is there is no swimmable beach whatsoever. There is a small grassy area with several lounge chairs & a hammock, but there is no sand, just craggy rocks and dead coral which prevents you from getting in the water. At low tide we were able to wade in up to our ankles and during the guided reef walk there was nothing to see because the reef is dead and there is very, very little sea life in evidence. Because divers had reserved the resort’s boat for their excursions, sadly there were no trips to the sandbar, and yes we could have booked this with an operator in town and pay double to price Namale charged, it was too much of a hassle to be bothered. Another disappointment was that in the bures, only the bedrooms were air conditioned. We were in Duavata, which was one of the largest and most expensive ones with multiple rooms inside, and it got quite warm inside the bure once we walked out of the bedroom. We also had a dining room in a separate hut, and inside that, there was no air conditioning at all. Except for walking through to go to the second bathroom, we were unable to utilize it at all because of the heat. We booked Duavata, which was way above our budget, and one of the reasons was because it had both inside and outside showers. Sadly for the first 2 days, there was no hot water in either of the 2 outdoor showers, and when we spoke to the ladies at the front desk, they informed us that those showers were unheated. This was a tremendous disappointment to us both. However, when I spoke to Nowdla, the general manager, she informed us that the showers would be fixed immediately and we would indeed have the hot water we required. Sadly only one shower was able to be repaired, with the second one requiring new equipment which would not arrive until after our departure. One has to question why the showers were not tested and repaired prior to our arrival. Duavata needs some love and updating, and the ants can be a bit of a nuisance. The food was far from 5 star, and during the first few days, it was barely adequate. The picnic and room service menus needs much more expanding and offers limited choices. However after speaking to Nowdla, the general manager, she set up a consultation between the chef and us, and the result was that it was vastly improved. Do not hesitate to speak up and let the staff know about ANYTHING which is lacking or that you desire because they will accommodate you in any way they possibly can. You want lobster, they will get it for you. When we voiced that we loved the mud crabs with a sweet chili sauce, the chef made it for us again, with the original recipe which was fabulous, but also with a special Fijian preparation which the ladies in the dining room recommended. Likewise, the bartenders Kevin and Errol made our favorite cocktails to accompany it all. In fact before we departed, the recipes we loved were printed up for us and mason jars were filled and sealed for us to ta

OK. On the face of things it is not a cheap getaway but if you factor in that your meals AND drinks are included Namale is worth taking another look. As a honeymoon destination or perhaps to celebrate a special occasion, Namale will certainly please. No bills to scour over on the last day is a great feeling. The resort is very much tailored for the US market hence the predominantly American guests that were visiting. Certainly not an issue for us and great to meet some people from the other side of the world. The food was for us very good though we felt a little restricted in choices for some. I personally found a lot of the food over salted to my liking but that may be a personal thing. For those that like wine with dinner there was a very reasonable New Zealand and Australian wine list to choose from. There is also a well serviced bar with a broad range of spirits and mixers to have created cocktails and night cap drinks for those who want to party on. I can totally recommend the prawns. They just pop in the mouth. Would have been nice to see more seafood options (crayfish) and the Kakoda which is a Fiji highlight. The rooms are all stunning, spacious, well appointed and totally relaxing. We had a garden room originally which was perfect but were upgraded for our last night to a magnificent honeymoon suite (many thanks). We were originally in the ‘Lisi’ room but we were able to move to ‘Lynetti’. The weather was not so good and having an outdoor covered area offered us some space to be able to sit outside while it rained and was worth the move. The further move to Loloma was a complete surprise and very much appreciated. What really impresses is the sense that you are the only people there. Other than for meal times when you may wish to go to the restaurant you would not know there were others on the resort. The spa centre is out of this world. The best massage I have ever had. The hydro pool, sauna, waterfall massage and plunge pools are all complimentary. My only criticism (constructive) is the communication prior to booking and while at the resort. While the weather is not the fault of the resort, it is important that guests are kept better informed particularly with challenging weather and that options are provided. All up 4.5/5.0
