"Stayed at Scandic Helsinki Aviapolis, a convenient airport hotel near Helsinki-Vantaa Airport. Overall, it was a good stay, ideal for transit travelers and short visits.
The hotel is just a few minutes from the airport, with a free shuttle service running every 20–30 minutes. It is also within walking distance of Aviapolis train station (about 15 minutes), making it easy to reach Helsinki city center. A major plus is the Jumbo Shopping Mall nearby, offering a variety of restaurants, shops, and a grocery store—perfect for those needing last-minute essentials or an alternative dining option.
The room was clean, modern, and functional, featuring comfortable bedding, a work desk, and a well-maintained bathroom with a walk-in shower and essential toiletries.
The breakfast buffet starts at 6 AM, offering a great selection of fresh bread, cold cuts, hot dishes, and Finnish specialties. For those with super early flights, a light breakfast is available from 4 AM.
Due to time constraints - I briefly checked out the gym and sauna in the basement which appeared well-maintained.
The staff was friendly and efficient, making check-in and check-out smooth. The overall atmosphere is modern and practical, making it a great choice for travelers catching an early flight or needing a short, comfortable stay near the airport."
"I was carrying about 35kg of camera gear in my suitcase and backpack.
The walk from the station was tough—Google Maps led me through a steep and rocky path.
If you’ve got heavy bags or you’re older, I recommend taking the riverside path on the other side—it’s longer but much easier.
But once I got to the room, I totally forgot the hard part.
It was such a lovely space—calm, cozy, and beautiful.
The owner was super kind and easy to talk to.
I had a great time here and would definitely stay again when I visit Zermatt.
Thanks for the amazing stay and memories^ ^"
"A good hotel for an overnight transfer stay. The free airport shuttle is very convenient. Look for the bus assembly area sign to quickly locate the station at airport. The T2 said on the timetable is just misleading and will put you in a long walking maze. Breakfast is overall good but the instant coffee (only choice) can be improved."
"Located right next to Vantaa Airport, it's easily walkable. Finding the hotel from the airport was straightforward thanks to clear signage. The breakfast was standard but perfectly adequate. Our room was spacious and came well-equipped with amenities, including a kettle and coffee. An excellent choice for a layover or transit."
"The place is incredibly nice, it’s a pity that I checked in at 10pm and leave at 5am the other day, but the design is modern and beautiful, the environment is chill, and I am so impressed that since I left in the early morning and they can provide breakfast at 4am, also I’m so impressed they use Rituals… for shampoo, shower gel, hand washing and body & hand lotion:)
After all, since it’s a very short stay, but the experience is excellent and impressive, definitely a great choice for you to stay"
"Conveniently next to arrival exit. Check in staff was at the counter even late at night. Room was assigned to an accessibility room, and was very spacious and quiet. Bed and floor were clean, but a very faint smell can be picked up in the bathroom. No bottled water offered in room, but you can pick up a bottle at the airport supermarket before coming in. Overall a pleasant hotel for overnight transit."
"A teenager with a son was accommodated. Good location, close to a shopping center and an important airport for us. Good beds and pillows and nice quiet air conditioning. Tasty breakfast, nice staff and plus airport shuttle. I recommend :)"
"There is a shuttle bus from the airport, which you can get on at bus stop 42. It seems to run about every 30 minutes, which is helpful.
Check-in was smooth, and all you had to do was give your date of birth, passport number, address, name of your companion, and sign. The receptionist also spoke slowly in English, so I was able to understand, thank you.
After that, I asked if there was hot water and printed out my boarding pass, and when I went down the stairs, there was a water boiler and a microwave, so I used them, and a male staff member also said I could use a fork, so I was able to eat instant noodles for dinner.
They also readily agreed to print my boarding pass, which was very helpful.
As other people have written in their reviews, it's a problem that the last shuttle bus to the airport is at 8:55, and I wish it would run at least until check-out time.
But in Helsinki, I was able to call a taxi with Uber, so it was okay, it was only 9€!"
"When I booked, I fancy this hotel with a good location, right next to the tikkurila train station. It is very convenient to stay in whether it is from the airport or by train from another city. Finnish hotels are not cheap, and this chain is not bad. There are still some tableware and kettles in the room, you can take a light meal, but the range hood really didn't understand it, there is no pipe, and the smoke is directly from the top. The smoke is still in the room. Self-service check-in, no front desk, poor survivability is a bit challenging. The hotel has a shared washing machine, which is good."
"Peaceful place, no noise from the traffic and otherwise also very quiet.
Room had tv, refrigerator and a comfy chair beside the bed.
What can I say? For this price I say this a steal. Also breakfast was very good.
I fully recommend this at least for solo travelleres like I."
