Amazing service all round, also very secure and certainly refreshing and a lovely place. Having more lights by the river wouldn't be a bad idea it gets a bit too dark at night and that cuts the fishing in half

Emerald is a great getaway for the weekend, specifically if you have visitors from overseas, as you can show them all the books that make South Africa unique. On the game drive, that you can book through Emerald, you come very close to Eland Springboks, Wikldebeast etc. which was quite amazing. We haven't had such close encounter with the animals at any game drive before. Unfortunatelyunfortunatelyunfortunately we had some issues with bed bugs in one of our bedrooms, reported this to the reception and they instantly tried to sort out the problem immediately. Although this was not the most pleasant experience, the staff really did their best to sort it out, which we really appreciated. It is wonderful that you can go to the aAquadome. The aAquadome is not very spacious, I must say. For younger children it is completely satisfactory though. For our teens we would have wished for more slides and exciting activities inside the Aquadome. We found that the bathrooms in the Aquadome definitely need an upgrade: only one of the toilets doors you could lock, all others were broken. In total we really enjoyed the stay and can recommend it to anyone who's looking for a relaxed getaway.
