It was a very special experience for me. The hotel was built with stone walls and looked in harmony with nature. It was very pretty and neat. The service was friendly and breakfast was delicious.

An exceptional place—we decided to stay an additional day at Moinho do Maneio, canceling a night in the Douro Valley, because we loved the place and its surroundings so much. Anabela and her husband have created such a special retreat, truly a welcome respite after traveling through the busy cities of Madrid and Seville. The fireplace, the sauna, extra cozy cabin / bed, incredible breakfast with lots of homemade goodies, wine / beer to purchase, etc. all made the stay unique. This seemingly "undiscovered" area has something for everyone. It's close enough to small 13th to 16th Century medieval towns with tons of history to satisfy history fans. There's canoeing along the stream and it also looks like a cyclist and hikers paradise. It certainly exceeded its rating, in our minds. Additionally, Anabela and her husband were so helpful at pointing us to interesting sites to visit, even for when we left the area. Definitely hope to return one day and we will point others in their direction! (Must also say we enjoyed the company of their dogs and cats—such sweethearts).

Great hospitality from the owners and total availability to help us fining the best places to eat and visit. The breakfast is simply wonderful! Is one of those places where you almost feel like family.

The property is located in a very beautiful enviroment, with different facilities and the breakfast was delicious. Both hosts are very friendly and helpful. Would strongly recommend for anyone looking for a place in nature! We regereted that we didn't booked for a longer stay

What a lovely setting and such a welcoming couple! We had a cosy one night stay in early November. The property was nestled in a valley with a stream running by and we had a very comfortable room in a stone house with a wood stove and crisp sheets! The location was great for us to tour nearby historic villages but I would imagine it is even better in the summer when you can enjoy the pool and stream. We loved hearing the burros and petting the dogs and a highlight was an arranged dinner by Maria Caldeira De Susa of Casa Da Velha Fonte. It was fabulous! Breakfast was delicious too! Very clean and very attractive property! Very peaceful! Lovely owners!

Aqui a comunhão com a Natureza é a prioridade. Nos últimos dias, graças ao pequeno paraíso criado e mantido arduamente com todo o carinho pela Anabela Martins e pelo Rui Marcelo, as minhas filhas aprenderam que há mais vida para além da cidade. Comeram comida biológica, aprenderam a mimar os cães e os gatos, deixaram de ficar doidas com aranhas, vespas e abelhas, esqueceram o que é a televisão. Viveram livres. Eu, sem rede no telemóvel, aproveitei para ler muito, dormir na melhor cama da minha vida, estar com elas com todo o tempo do mundo. Ainda tivemos a sorte de ver à noite um veado enorme (que tivemos a sorte de não atropelar) e de todos os dias acordarmos com o barulho dos burritos da quinta. Foram das melhores férias das nossas vidas, que nunca esqueceremos.
