We loved this hotel. Part hotel, part B&B. The staff was so helpful & welcoming, the views amazing, the breakfast delicious. In the middle of the old quarter and easy walk to excellent food.

In the heart of one of the most picturesque areas of the city this hotel is a perfect base to explore. Easy walking to dinner and shopping. Quiet and the staff is wonderful. Thank you!

We were treated like family. Lovely reception staff that greeted us our room had the most amazing view was spotless and so comfortable beautiful garden kept so well with three lovely terraces to sit in which we made full use of and enjoyed after a lovely day sightseeing. Breakfast first day lovely second day still lovely good quality food but let down over a very sill waitress who did not see me come back from the loo and I found taking the piss out of me because we had asked for a different coffee as I passed the kitchen back to my table the Gentleman serving breakfast as well and I do mean a Gentleman tried his hardest to diffuse the situation but I had seen and heard it completely upset me all day. Don’t let this put you off this fabulous place with fabulous staff and this silly incident I am sure was dealt with but has left a nasty taste.

Period property in a good location for exploring Valparaiso.
Positives- The place has character, a very comfortable bed and decent breakfast.
Negatives- There is a $20 USD charge for parking, which was only disclosed after booking. The hotel said the charge was due to limited parking spaces but there were spaces available on the street. The parking charge should be disclosed before booking, not after.
- Hotel should inform guests not to put paper in the toilet as it got blocked!
- The shower takes a long time to warm up and the water drains very slowly and also gets blocked.
- Could be cleaner too.

We stayed here two nights. We are Americans used to boring, run-of-the-mill hotels with no character and neutral staff who don’t like the guests. This was a lovely break from our norm. Everyone was super friendly, desirous to make our stay happy and give recommendations. The ceilings were super high in our room overlooking the bay, with a chandelier and lovely paint color. It felt like being in an early 1900’s great house. They have a gardener who comes to create gorgeous flowers and trees over 3 different terraces where you can go sit outside to eat or sip wine at sunset. The area in general is like the rest of Valparaiso with some dirt and grunge, but stepping into this hotel was like a most lovely sanctuary. Highly recommend. They lock the gate getting in and out and recognize you by face so there is no fear of random people coming off the street. This may be normal in South America but we noted it as the whole place felt and seemed very secure. They helped us get a taxi for our trip to the vineyards as well, which was nice.

I booked the stay at Zerohotel through the Delta Vacations, for a pre-cruise accommodation. If I knew in advance how much my husband and I both enjoyed the lovely boutique hotel and the Valparaiso, we would have definitely booked for longer! The hotel manager started taking care of us long before the arrival, arranging for the airport transfer from Santiago. The personal and attentive care was evident in everything: getting the reservations for the restaurant, advising on the local tours, etc. I typically try to book with Small Luxury Hotels network ( where available), and Zerohotel’s services fit right in. We loved everything!
