Thank you to the staff at Maki Hostels. I really enjoyed my time there. I love that they spoke English and it was very convenient to walk to all the major attractions in Cerro Allegre and Cerro Conception.

The hotel's location is perfect for exploring the area and visiting tourist spots. We had the opportunity to go to the church Luterana de La Santa Cruz, which is located near the hotel and explore the shops. We also chose "comfort in one", The bed was extremely comfortable and had soft pillows and high quality sheets, We also enjoyed the view, definitely worth coming back.

Maki is a hotel ideal for first-time Valparaiso visitors who do not demand too much of their hotel. If you are interested in taking a look at Valparaiso's famous arts area with colorful and creative wall paintings, you are right in the center of it by staying at Maki. Most importantly, hotel staff speaks good English. It is also near the Valparaiso cruise terminal.

Great deal in an awesome neighborhood!
My family slept comfortably in a suite with 1 queen, 2 twin beds, and a a private bathroom. The beds were comfortable and room was clean. The hostel has a very welcoming and warm feel to it. The common area has a fully functioning kitchen and access to fridges that you can store food in. The staff are friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend!

Grows on you.
They didn't clean the bathroom. Hair, scum, garbage, and I don't know what. Staff was friendly but slow. Nice female dorm, though! Great location.

Place is very walkable to all areas . I got the private room with bathroom and is huge and in perfect condition. I definitely recommend if you looking for a budget nice place to stay.

Worst experience in hostel I would not recommend this hostel if you need to sleep to catch an early bus/flight or you have light sleep. When we’ve arrived staff asked us for common sense about noise after 11pm to respect others, but then, they kept the music loud in the reception room - which was just next our bedroom - until 1am; after that people stayed until 3.30am gathering and talking very laud. Very disrespectful. We couldn’t sleep at all. The room is basic and not very clean, bathroom stink and you can hear every noise from the other bathroom and bedrooms, also mattresses are not so comfortable. Only positive note is the position, but position itself doesn’t worth the money.

Way past it’s prime. Not clean.
I had the split level with two singles. The downstairs bed smelled a bit like urine. The upstairs bed was uncomfortably hot. I couldn’t stand up straight in the shower. You couldn’t pay me to stay here again. I wish I had just paid up for a decent hotel. This place is a hostel in desperate need of a deep clean and a paint job. The pluses were the service and the location.
