Near to Guadix city :Tio Tobas, Cuevas. Experience; historic cave like appartments, from +/_ 1890, nice stay. Limited activities. Good base(camp) for Sierra Nevada tours. The appartment is a multi-module carved room. No way modern. See history.

Lovely concept but our accommodation was tired.
Fascinating concept - i.e. staying in a cave - but the cave space wasn't much different from a country cottage once furnished with old furniture, lighting etc. Our living room was adequate, but the bathroom shower cubicle was in bbad condition. The bedroom (deeper into the cave) was delightful to look at, but the mattress and pillows were hard.
Perhaps this place would be a lot better at the start of the season?

We stayed for a few nights in August 2023 with our 3 large teenagers and we loved it! The caves were nice and cool with a rustic feel, creative decoration and comfy beds. We found the staff at reception to be very helpful in recommending places to visit near by and we enjoyed the food in the restaurant too, eating far too much and the restaurant staff were very helpful, attentive and friendly. We went out locally a little and found great tapas in Guadix and fantastic walks through woodland trails with waterfalls, up to mountain lakes and with desert viewpoints. Even though our stay was brief, it was a highlight for us and we would certainly recommend it.

When researching where to stay on our stop to visit the Alhambra/Granada I found this place when I expanded my search we chose it because the novelty of staying in a cave sounded like a lot of fun. And it was, I can't recommend this place enough for a fun change of pace. Yes, it's about an hour drive from Granada, but if you're travelling by car it's worth it. Are the caves super fancy with luxurious furnishings? No, not at all. But they're comfortable and cozy. The staff were exceedingly helpful and friendly despite language barriers. Our first morning we had to leave before breakfast and the wonderful staff in the restaurant put something together for us to eat in our rooms head of time. She just kept adding things to the tray. Meats, cheese, bread, fruit, coffee, juice, pastries, etc. It was an exceedingly generous thing to do. Our last night we decided to have dinner in their restaurant and the food was some of the best of the trip. Absolutely outstanding. Try their family recipe goat stew, it was amazing. There's no wi-fi and no TV, but there are donkeys you can watch for entertainment and it was great. This was really a highlight of our 10 day trip and we're so glad we found it, you should really consider it if in the area.

Spain tour
First cabin had bad smell, quickly changed us to another. Restaurant was very good and value for money.
Breakfast was excellent, with lots of choice? The whole place is very interesting and definitely worth a vist

No se realmente por dónde empezar porque esta experiencia ha sido y fue inolvidable y será mi sitio preferido. Todo lo que contiene este lugar es de cuento, un cuento que tenia en sueños y un día tal cúal se convirtió en realidad. Conocí al dueño y su pareja en otro lugar y nos invitaron y no sabia que me esperaba... ahora el haber estado allí solo puedo decir que el lugar es espectacular porque cada cueva es un paraíso en medio del bosque y montañas, con camas mas que cómodas a parte de detalles de lujo como cocina, salón y baño con ducha que nadie ni tiene en casa (hecho con cariño 100% ) y añado donde por fin se puede dormir como un angelito. Menciono dormir como angelito porque hay una paz bajo tierra (cueva) que te deja descansar de verdad. Hoy en día con el estrés que llevamos es un regalo poder descansar de verdad y esto ha conseguido este lugar. Gracias. Gracias también al restaurante que son gente maravillosa con su producto y cariño que también aporta mucho para sentirse tan bien en Tío Tobas. Gracias especialmente a Manolo, Silvia, Alberto y el equipo que logran sentirte así o mejor dicho que te dejan vivir este sueño. Gracias por haberme presentado hasta a tus animales Matilde y etc....y la historia de este lugar porque todo esto en solo un día me llenó el corazón. Mucha Amistad. Verena.
