La Aurora Hotel Colonial

Guests appreciate the comfortable beds, spacious rooms, and friendly staff. The central location near Valladolid's historic center and excellent amenities also receive praise. Some mention the cleanliness as a highlight.

I booked my room directly through their website the week before our travels. I reserved a KING bed for 1 night and received a discount for paying in FULL with no refunds. Upon arrival I was told repeatedly that they don't have any reservation of mine in their system. I showed them the confirmation email which was from their hotel email address/website. I also showed them the credit card transaction of my payment in full to their company. Repeated denial, NO ONE from management came to speak with me about their error. After about 15 minutes of them "checking" I was told there was no room for us at the hotel but they would ALLOW us to stay in their "nicer" sister hotel down the street for the same rate.... but it was a matrimonial bed size and I paid for a king. The way in which I was spoken to was that I was an convenience and I was being given the gift of staying at this other place, like it was somehow my fault they didn't do their jobs and I should be grateful. The other hotel was not of a better quality, however, the staff there were much more attentive and I will be giving them an honest review as well. This is the first time I've had this experience where I was denied my paid room, given a lower quality room, not offered a further discount or something in return for the STUPID inconvenience and also not offered an apology!!! Ridiculous- beware if you book online here.
