Best Western Hotel de France

The view of the old church from the Superior Room was well worth the extra cost. Room was large. Staff was friendly. Nice extra touch that there was complimentary fruit at front desk.

This is a nice hotel right in the middle of town, a little difficult to drive to. The rooms had been updated extensively, but our bed had a slight slope back towards the headboard. The hotel restaurant did not have a broad enough menu for us to eat there, though well decorated. We would have liked to seen a chicken dish, a risotto dish, etc. We found a fun, vibrant restaurant a block away. Breakfast was a little lacking, also served in a separate room away from the restaurant. With such a restaurant, they could have offered a-la-carte cooked items.

If you are staying in Bourg-en-Bresse you must stay in this hotel. Beautifully refurbished at some point fairly recently. It retains the features of an older hotel whilst having all the modern conveniences. Rooms are spacious and nicely decorated. I am looking forward to staying there again.

Nice hotel in a good spot with a very good restaurant. The price of the room was reasonable. The bathroom was excellent and there was ample parking in the square in front if you did not want to use their parking area.

We had a lovely huge bedroom. The furniture was all dark wood and free standing. We were there when the weather had been hot but it was cooling down on our visit. We were very surprised to find we hadn’t a duvet on our bed only a cotton sheet and no air con. We had no tea making facilities only a coffee machine. We were left a couple of coffee pods but no milk. A lot of people were using the restaurant. In walking distance of places of interest, shops and restaurants.

Very nice and charming hotel, tastefully renovated with respect for its history, ideally located as a stop on the way south or to explore the region, excellent breakfast buffet. Friendly staff, pets welcome, I very much recommend this hotel !

Typical old French hotel, looking out onto square. Our room was high ceilings and looked over the square, good bathroom but no bidet which all good hotels used to have! What could be more important than keeping your bottom clean, and having somewhere to wash your socks, (only joking) Noisy fountain and church clock, I loved it but some people may find it intrusive. We used the hotel car park which was tight but good ( you pay extra) Meal in adjoining restaurant good but a bit pricey, mainly because we had an expensive local wine. Tuna salad excellent (proper raw tuna, so fresh) Excellent breakfast. Friendly staff. Would go again if passing by, but maybe not make a special journey if you know what I mean?
