I have visited Christiania in January 2024 and spent 6 nights with my daughter in this property. As I denoted in the title of review, I am very satisfied with politeness of the staff and their motivation to help their visitors. However, being a 5-star hotel, I would expect a mini-bar in my room, more variety of food in room service (at least very basic hamburgers, pastas). The breakfast buffet is classic for a French hotel, it is more than enough for me, but still it may be short of expectations of other visitors. My main recommendation for everybody would be not to book a Category D room. I was offered Room 422, which was basically a graveyard. I did not see other Category D rooms, but if they are same design and size, you should stay away from them. The management let me change my room very easily as there were some vacancies. Otherwise, my stay would be definitely disastrous. I should also mention and appreciate that, for the last day of my stay (as I have extended my holiday for one day), they let me stay in Jr Suite for Category D price. So if you want to compare this property with others in Val in terms of pricing, everybody should consider at least Category C room rates. Lastly, dont consider the hotel as ski-in, ski-out. You have to walk 100 meters from the hotel to slopes. Do I stay in Christiania again? I cant say "no", but should say that it remained short of my expectations.

Thank you for a lovely stay. The hotel is beautifully run and the staff so attentive, professional and friendly. Dinner is always delicious and the evening starter and pudding buffets, delicious. However, the WIFI is poor and needs improving. The water in our bathroom was not hot and the plug did not work, so it was not possible to have a bath, even though I had mentioned the problem on my first day, it was not dealt with. I also think the manicure prices are too high and my "permanent" manicure failed after a day! I complained to reception after spending a lot of money for 3 rooms over 9 nights that a €30 charge for removing shellac on top of a €70 charge for a manicure was too much - but no concession was given, which surprised me. However, on the whole we love the Christiania and look forward to its renovation and hoping that the charming decor is retained, albeit improved and modernised. Thank you again for looking after us.

We had a wonderful expensive at Hotel Christiania. The most spectacular thing about it is the team - Nicolas from the Concierge and his team are absolutely exceptional. They deliver such a great service, catering to your very need and making your holiday perfect. The location is great - very central and within a three minute walk to the slopes and lifts. The one thing that made our stay slightly uncomfortable were the annoyingly arrogant British families who cannot seem to know or care about controlling their spoilt and entitled children. But that’s not necessarily the hotel’s issue - it’s an issue of the whole resort. The views are gorgeous. The pillows were slightly uncomfortable but the bed is great. Breakfast was very nice too!

Wonderful stay at Christiana. Second time we have returned. Delicious breakfasts and dinner with half board. Our kids loved the play room before/after/during dinner. Special note to the wonderful reception staff in particular Stevie who was incredibly kind and helpful after one of our group sustained an injury. Cannot fault their team. Yes the decor is dated but the team are wonderful.

Fantastic stay as always. Beds keep getting comfier! Big thank you to all the staff. Lovely service that we keep returning for. First time skiing with the children and the hotel were great with them. We will be returning next year! Breakfast was a massive hit with my daughter. She loved being able to toast her own bread and the little jams! Thank you Team Christiania.

Apart from being a stunning hotel, with a formidable location in one of the best ski resorts in the Alps, what sets this hotel apart is the kindness and attention to service, remarkable! If I were to stay in Valdisere again I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here!

Great hotel and service. First time someone from hotel staff parked my car safely and I didn’t have to worry about it. Comfortable room and good french breakfast. All you need for skiing weekend is available in the hotel. I didn’t try the wellness but it looked alright.

Very nice old fashioned quality hotel with great and friendly service. Situated at a great location close to the the two main ski lifts that give access to both the Val d’Isere and Tignes ski areas. And it is also close to the city center. We will be back.

A wonderful experience in Val d’Isere. Exceptional staff, wonderful ambience, great food. The hotel maintains its reputation as one of the great places to stay in the French Alps. Close to all amenities and the pistes. The family-like atmosphere is a highlight.
