We had a 3 bedroom suite that was spectacular. Every aspect of service at the Ritz was top notch. Including twice a day maid service. We went to the Iron Mountain Hot Springs which was very relaxing. We also did the Leadville ATV Tour which was a must do if you are in the area. We played golf at Eagle Vail, Eagle Ranch and the Vail Golf course, all of which were worth the price (all below $190. The Sunday Market in Vail is amazing and we purchased several locally made products. We lounged at the Ritz pool, ate out several days at local Vail restaurants, but we also cooked in our full kitchen 4 evenings of 9 we were there. We utilized the incredible gym at the Ritz and walked 3 plus miles a day along the Gorge River trail. Each evening at 4 they have hot chocolate chip cookies and at 5 PM they provide 10th Mountain bourbon shots to toast the 10th Mountain Company that was a main reason that Vail, Breckenridge and other ski areas in the area exist! All of these activities we did every day with big smiles on our face. We also enjoyed the daily evening live music either inside at the bar or outside at the fire pit with s’mores. We hated to leave after our 9 day stay.

The Ritz Carlton Residences in Vail claim to be 5-star luxury residences, and maybe this was true at some point in the past. Now, they are in serious need of proper maintenance and way overpriced compared to other, better-quality options in Vail/Lionshead area. We checked in for a week for spring break and were given apartment 616. On out first night, we realized the A/C was not working so called down and told reception who said if it was OK, maintenance would come by in the morning. That never happened so I called again and this time a maintenance man did come by but he did not speak English and had no idea what was happening despite me pointing to the A/C controls that were not on. After he left and nothing changed for the rest of that day I called again, and again they sent the same person and again, nothing happened. The major issue here is the apartment was too hot, and the bedrooms had no opening windows. During the evening of our second fill day, I called for a 4th time and this time two gentleman came in who did speak English and they spent 30 mins figuring out the issue before stating the management company knew the A/C was not working in this unit and were surprised they were putting guests in there. They also said, that if they had the parts needed, the repairs would take a number of hours. At this point I said not to do the work that night and called down to reception to get another room. After several calls to reception to get the valet to help us move, we eventually were given Room 111. Room 111, aside from being the most poorly equipped 'Residential Condo' I have ever stayed in, is on the ground floor with two sets of doors opening onto a small patio. Both of these doors had locks that did not work (we were not informed of this) so both doors could be opened from the outside. Rather than fix the locks, the management company had attached cheap latches, which themselves were put on so poorly they latch would not go into the fixing on the doors - I ended up forcing them using an attachment form a mixer in the kitchen to make them lock. This meant were unable to open the doors as it was simply too hard to keep forcing the latches to work. In the morning, I made the mistake of turning on the cold tap in one of the sinks in the main bathroom as that made just the worst noise and the water then came out in a somewhat stuttering style. If someone had rented this condo, that apparently sleeps 6, and had intentions of cooking for 6, they would have serious problems. The cutlery is a mishmash of knives and forks from differing styles and also, there were uneven numbers (6 knives, but only 5 dinner forks and three desert forks, as well as only 3 steak knives). The kitchen had almost no useful tools to cook with and frankly, was symptomatic of the lack of care and attention seen throughout this overpriced establishment. The majority of the staff are very friendly (there is one individual ion valet that clearly does not want to be there and has

Enjoyed our stay. Only issue I had was the furniture could use some repair/upgrading. For example, the long chest of drawers in our bedroom had broken drawers and drawers that could not even be opened. The hallways could use better lighting, really dated the place. But overall very clean and friendly staff. Would stay again.

Ritz Carlton Vail We had a great room spacious and well decorated - but there were quite a lot of things that were broken. We had to get the kitchen faucet fixed, the automated blinds weren’t working, candles weren’t working (batteries may be). Some kitchen cabinets needed repairs. Mattresses were tempurpedic but super firm. The biggest problems we had was that there is no breakfast at the hotel, only coffee. And there isn’t even a vending machine inside. There is a van that takes you to Lionshead until 4:30 or pm but it takes about 15-20 min to wait for it and it wouldn’t take you to Vail. In the evening the van can take you to Vail but again with a long wait and there is no way to reserve it. They should have more property cars. Also the housekeeping wasn’t great. Never even cleaned the toilets.
