We are travelling in a motorhome and have been in Norway for 3 weeks. Part of the appeal was the freedom to roam, wild camping is wide spread and we love just pulling up somewhere secluded. We use a great app P4N which identifies places we can pull in. No camping is becoming more prevalent which makes this more tricky. We were told the ferry over to Vaeroy was free, and they are trying to encourage tourists. So we thought yes, let’s go. However.. I’ve checked on all proposed parking options and they come back with some awful reviews. No camping is basically everywhere, and some people have had persons demanding money from them when they have pulled up. So we are going to give it a miss and head straight to the Lofoten Islands where I can see wild camping is welcomed. What a shame

Called in to the restaurant looking for a table for later that evening for the family. I was greeted by a lovely friendly waitress called Tori who showed me the menu and said they were booked solid from 6 but there were tables available from 8. She showed me the menu it looked good. The owner/manager a tall muscular bald Swedish man spoke to her ( I don’t understand Swedish great but it’s easy to observe when someone is being aggressive.) He was giving her a telling off, I made some chitchat about the island , he subsequently came over took the menu out of my hand and raised his voice asking me to leave as he was very busy. Sir, If you think the restaurant business is solely about food you don’t understand what you’re selling, it’s about hospitality. Every business owner gets stressed but there is no excuse for being rude to customers or aggressive to you own junior female staff. You owe her an apology. Thanks but no thanks for the food. I think I’ll eat with the locals at the burger joint

Really bad experience with bad fish soup and sleepy service. boring wine list and we had to wait for the food and drink. The lady who served us was nice but no energy. Our friends thought the same. But the place and the surroundings is great
