Stayed for 3 nights from 30-2 January 2025. Beautiful hotel, looks stunning from outside when you drive in especially with all Christmas lights on evening time. Free large parking outside hotel. Beautiful reception and corridors. Checked in easy and fast, simple. We’re given room cards and explained where we can find the room. Room was really nice however slight disappointed with no complimentary water in the room. Stayed in lots of different price ranges hotel and this if the first hotel that rooms are not equipped with complimentary water. No choice of tea to chose from in the room - only one tea bag wkth English breakfast tea. Room itself was beautiful however toilet was separated from the shower and was the smallest toilet I have ever seen. If you are claustrophobic you would not like to use it. Stayed previously in cheaper hotels around for New Year’s Eve , last year in Aachen and was surprised with small bottle of champagne in room, chocolate , New Years whishes/ was disappointed not so see any of it here. Even small card with New years whishes would be nice gesture. No small touches to make stay special. Requested for cot bed in room which was to pay extra for 7.50 euros a night. Used breakfast (25 euros per person) on New Year Day which was really nice but again nothing special. No single interaction with staff except showing us a table. Self served buffet with great food selection. If you want to order a room service there is a charge of extra 15 euros just for the food to be delivered to your room. Easy check out but again - was not even asked if we enjoyed our stay only if I needed invoice. Overall beautiful hotel but feels like there is still lots of space for improvement. Customer service was okay but for the price you pay I was expecting more memorable stay and engagement from the staff. Not sure if would stay again.

It's priced to set heightened expectations and Kasteel Bloemendal certainly exceeded even those. We had booked dinner but were running late and called reception to ask if the reservation could be pushed back. No problem and we finally arrived 10 minutes before the latest table booking time. The receptionist, who gave a perfect welcome, immediately contacted the restaurant (without us prompting her) to push out the reservation yet again to give us more time to settle in and freshen up. Room, the Tower Suite, was perfect as was dinner and breakfast. Highly recommended!

We had a beautiful room looking into the back garden. Excellent breakfast with plenty of variety. The grounds are amazing with a lovely fountain and walking paths. Great hiking close by. The Main Street is around the corner with nice restaurants and cafes.

We stayed in a comfort room as we were travelling with dogs and were pleased to be given a ground floor room with a small veranda. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a well equipped bathroom and separate shower. I missed having a bathrobe available, as it's not the sort of thing you pack unless you're staying for a week or so. We struggled to order food in English from the app. Breakfast was excellent.

This was our first stay ever at a vd Valk hotel and I start with the positive things. 1) Staff at the lobby and the breakfast very friendly and helpfull. 2) When we arrived we got an other room after a complaint without any problem. What disappointed us strongly were the following. 1) We got a room where the carpet all over had black smudges which looked really dirty. 2) The bed in the new room was on the side facing to step out like a slide at a holiday park. It was worn out by the" heavy weights" over time and never repalced. I fixed this problem temporarely myself by turning the very thick second mattrass over. 3) My wife and I were not able to watch our own old digitized pictures and short video's (TV has an USB port) because the television terminated everything in such that we even could not watch TV at all. Watching only TV was restored by a very helpfull staff member. 4) Between my bed and the wall were a lot of big and thick parts of clocked together dust. (see pictures) These rooms stay very dark even with all "lights"turned on and by accident I noticed this because I used my flashlight in the night. 5) Vd Valk send us by e-mail a voucher for a welcome drink which did not specify any period of validity. When were thirsty the last day we decided to use it and went to the lobby and showed this voucher and the answer was that it was only valid on arrival. When I told the lady that this voucher did not mentioned anything about it she then told us to get a cup of coffee where we just had breakfast 1 hour before. This first acquaintance (in Dutch kennismaking?) with vd Valk hotels was ice cold and for us never more. So to say, our first and last.

Stayed at this hotel regularly for over 20 years. To our satisfaction. However, many changes have been made that we do not see as improvements. For example, no more table linen. You now sit at bare (cold) tables. The restaurant has a very limited menu. The dishes are small and very expensive. During dinner there was a family celebrating a birthday with a lot of noise, speeches, singing, and that just a few meters away from our table. The price/quality ratio is completely gone. The service has clearly deteriorated. The standard bathrobe in the room (stated in the system) was also not there. We expressed our displeasure at the reception. The receptionist did not know what to do with it and hardly responded. Such a shame. We are going to look for another hotel in South Limburg. Too bad!

After about 40 van der valk (mainly exclusive) I am now very disappointed. Checking in at this hotel is waiting until they feel like getting out of their old hut, unfriendly and not very helpful. The luxury castle room is not impressive, the bubble bath is not really a bubble bath. Restaurant, food was tasty portion very small and the price enormous 12 euros for a glass of cava, breakfast is ordinary, but placed on cupboards exactly as if they forgot. No coziness and staff not really friendly, nowhere can you see that you are in a van der valk. And then this hotel belongs in the more expensive class of van der valk, maybe also take the right picture because now it is located exactly in the woods and is just in the center of Vaals. I will not come here again
